Winstrike Team sued by multiple teams for Dota 2 transfers

Winstrike Team is not especially popular amongst its esports peers right now.

The CIS organization is under fire from a number of other teams based in the region after allegedly not following through on agreed-upon terms for player transfers. Most of the allegations stem from Winstrike’s Dota 2 team, which has undergone a slew of changes over the last two years.

Virtus.pro, Gambit Esports, HellRaisers, and forZe issued a joint statement through CyberSport.ru claiming various issues when it came to business dealings with Winstrike. CyberSport.ru shares a parent company with Virtus.pro.

Virtus.pro, Gambit, and HellRaisers all stepped forward with similar claims. The three teams stated that they agreed to terms on player transfers with Winstrike, with the organization ultimately not following through on payments.

Virtus.pro and Gambit do not list specific players, but they are likely referring to the transfers of Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosyan, Vasily “AfterLife” Shishkin, and Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin, respectively. HellRaisers left no doubt, specifically honing in on the transfer of Ilya “ALOHADANCE” Korobkin. According to HellRaisers, Winstrike failed to pay late fees stemming from delayed payments on the initial transfer fee.

forZe has its own story when it comes to dealing with Winstrike. According to forZe, Winstrike sought to acquire the organization’s team and came to terms on a transfer. The deal was later renegotiated, but Winstrike eventually just stopped responding to messages from forZe.

Each team discussed taking legal action against Winstrike Team.

Winstrike has struggled to live up to potential in Dota 2

Winstrike has long boasted one of the strongest rosters in the CIS region, bringing together a slew of top players from the region. Despite that, the team is yet to qualify for a Dota Pro Circuit event. Its only appearance in a notable tournament came in The International 2018, where Winstrike signed a FlyToMoon team that was already very close to qualifying at the time of the signing.

The Dota 2 team has struggled with almost constant roster changes, preventing it from ever gaining any real momentum. Winstrike dropped its previous roster in February and quickly signed the roster of Modus Unity to replace its previous lineup. That team is currently competing in the Epic Prime League.
