A slew of heroes had their talents changed with Dota 2 update 7.26c.

Version 7.26b delivered sweeping changes to talents, with the majority of them being reduced in effectiveness by about 20%. Dota 2 update 7.26c tweaks the heroes that were either effectively ruined by this, or remained overpowered.

Most of these changes are fairly straightforward in nature, with heroes receiving straightforward changes to their stats or abilities. Rubick’s level 15 Fade Bolt attack reduction talent was improved from -60 to -80, Slark’s level 10 stat talents were improved by one point, Riki’s level 20 Backstab multiplier was raised from +0.4 to +0.5, and so on.

A number of other heroes had their talents shaken up with Templar Assassin’s level 15 movement speed talent being replaced by evasion, Terrorblade’s Reflection cooldown reduction being changed to increased Conjure Image duration, and more.

That said, there were several other interesting changes to heroes.

One of the best is an improvement to Juggernaut’s Omnislash. The skill has long frustrated Dota 2 players due to its tendency to instantaneously stop bouncing when there isn’t a target within range. This was improved with Dota 2 update 7.26c with a 0.15-second buffer that will allow Omnislash to continue bouncing if a new target is found, which is ideal for awkward ultimates that hit both creeps and heroes.

Mars was also given an interesting new mechanic. While casting Spear of Mars, Bulwark will be automatically toggled off during the cast, reflecting his cast animation. Spear of Mars also has an increased mana cost, something that should weigh down the prolific hero.

Outside of this, there weren’t any especially noteworthy changes outside of talents. Most boil down to stat gain changes and changes to base damage.

Just two item changes in Dota 2 update 7.26c

After numerous changes to reduce the effectiveness of early game items, Dota 2 update 7.26c put a cork in those efforts. For the most part.

Just two neutral items were changed, being Royal Jelly and Illusionist’s Cape.

Royal Jelly remains in effect on illusions. This was previously a tool that could be used to identify whether a hero on the map was an illusion. It’s unclear if this was a feature or a bug, but regardless it’s no longer a concern.

Illusionist’s Cape lost a bit of its flexibility as well. The item can no longer be swapped back and forth from the backpack in order to span illusions. If a player uses the item to spawn an illusion and takes the item out of its item slot, the illusion disappears.
