T1 has officially settled on a Dota 2 roster after six disastrous months in the game.
T1 is finally done with trial lineups. The storied League of Legends organization is looking to build around the squad that competed under its banner in the open qualifiers to the ESL One LA Major.
That team consists of the following players:
- Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier
- Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky
- Lee "Forev" Sang-don
- Tri "Jhocam" Kuncoro
- Yixaun "xuan" Guo
T1's Dota 2 roster will also work alongside League of Legends coach Choi "cCarter" Byoung-hoon, and will be coached by former MVP Phoenix player Pyo "MP" No-a.
T1 hopes Forev and Black^ lead team to Epicenter Major
Following The International 2019, the iconic League of Legends organization expanded into Dota 2. The initial plan was to sign Forev and build a Korean-majority roster around him.
The initial version of the team made its ill-fated debut at VKGAME Battle of Dawn. T1 was eliminated from the group stage of the event after taking losses from largely unknown Chinese teams.
The team has taken in and released a number of players in the months since, ranging from Dota 2 rookies to accomplished veterans such as Johan "pieliedie" Åström and Kim "Febby" Yong-min. None of the teams have had even a modest level of success thus far.
The team that competed in the ESL One Los Angeles southeast Asian open qualifier underwhelmed, but did score a number of wins. The team missed out on making the regional qualifiers by a hair after being defeated by Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung's IO Dota2. That was apparently enough to convince T1 to sign the team to a more long-term deal.
T1’s official lineup will surely vie for a spot at the EPICENTER Major 2020. They will once again be forced to compete in the SEA open qualifiers, which will be a tough journey for the team unless it gels quickly.
