Misfits announced its roster for the LEC spring split in 2019, and the team surprised the fans with the signing of Korean support Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyeon.
Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian, Fabian “Febiven” Diepstraten, Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, and GorillA will be the starting five for Misfits next year.
Misfits is getting ready for the new season in the LEC with a roster full of stars. After previously announcing they would not be taking part in the league, Misfits were picked by Riot Games just days before the final reveal of the initial LEC franchises.
Now, the team is preparing for the competition where they will face the best teams in Europe. Misfits will be coached by former pro player Jesse “Jesiz” Le.
Maxlore and Hans Sama are returning to the roster. The jungler and AD carry are two of the most recognizable players for the organization. Both players joined the team in 2016.
Febiven is returning to Europe after a year spent competing in North America with Clutch Gaming. The team was considered an underdog in the NA LCS. Febiven and company finished in fourth place during the spring and failed to qualify for playoffs in summer, capping off what was a lackluster campaign abroad for the mid laner.
sOAZ surprised fans by leaving Fnatic. The top laner shared playing time with heralded rookie Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau. sOAZ is coming off back-to-back championships in Europe while with Fnatic, as well as a second-place finish at the World Championship 2018.
GorillA needs no introduction. The Korean support left behind lane partner Kim "PraY" Jong-in and decided to try his luck in Europe. Despite his domestic dominance in Korea, GorillA and his former teams ultimately failed to find success internationally.
Misfits looks like one of the strongest squads in the LEC. The competition returns on January 18.
