Evelyn is coming to Zenless Zone Zero and pre-farming materials for her skills, core skills, and promotions will let ZZZ players tear up enemies with her on day one.
Soldier 11 and her faction mates are set to be in the spotlight for Zenless Zone Zero’s 1.6 patch. But during version 1.5, the game’s featured fire attacker is Evelyn. Her ability to bunch up enemies and land massive, devastating AOE attacks makes her a definitive upgrade over the game’s original S-rank fire attacker.
S-rank characters don’t just plop out of the banner fully built, though. Players have to invest heaping helpings of battery charge, Dennies, and time into making them strong and completing their builds. Here’s how to do so with Evelyn.

Evelyn needs the standard roundup of attack certification seals in order to be promoted to higher levels.
There’s nothing new to speak of when it comes to promoting Evelyn. As an attacker, she follows the same progression as characters like Nekomata, Anton, Zhu Yuan, and so on. Here’s everything players need to get her to max level:
The primary method for getting certification seals is through the HIA. While there are some other options, such as buying them at the 141 Convenience Store, this costs a fair bit of Dennies and they’re available in very limited quantities. Because of this, players are best served simply using their battery charge to get them.
Plus, ZZZ players will need loads of Dennies to use all these promotion materials on Evelyn, so it’s better to keep them and just use battery charge.
The materials required to level up Evelyn’s skills are stacks of Burn Chips and significant amounts of Dennies.
Similar to her promotions, there’s nothing that sets Evelyn’s skill leveling apart from anyone else in her class. Whether it’s Soldier 11, Ben, or Koleda, Evelyn uses the same set of Burn Chips at the same rates as everyone else.
Like Attack Certification Seals, players will likely need to visit the HIA to fully upgrade her kit. Unlike certification seals, Burn Chips can be acquired in other ways. Players can check out the Signal Shop and spend Residual Signal to get a bundle of Advanced Burn Chips.
Players can also select a fire agent to manage Random Play each day for a bonus. An A-rank agent offers two Basic Burn Chips per day, while an S-rank agent offers five. Those who have Soldier 11, Burnice, or Koleda should put them to work in anticipation of Evelyn’s release.
Players need to farm Hans – Energized and Overlord Pompey to max out Evelyn’s core skills.
This is because she requires Higher Dimensional Data: Steel Malice and Scarlet Engines. Here are the requirements for upgrading each level of her core skills:
Alongside yet another fat stack of Dennies, Zenless Zone Zero players will need a total of nine Scarlet Engines and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Steel Malice. For leveled-up players, that translates to nine victories over Overlord Pompey at the Scott Outpost, and 12 wins over Hans – Energized at the HIA.
While players will have to continually rough up Hans in order to get these upgrade materials for Evelyn, there are some shortcuts there for the Scarlet Engines. Players can get up to four Hidden Treasures from the Scott Outpost’s Outpost Logistics shops per month. This accelerates the process of upgrading agents’ core skills for a fairly modest cost, and lets players save the battery charge they’d otherwise spend on Notorious Hunts.
