Zenless Zone Zero: Best Miyabi build with W-Engines, Drive Discs

Hoshimi Miyabi has arrived in Zenless Zone Zero and with a proper build, the right Drive Discs, and the right W-Engine she stands as possibly the best agent in the game.

Miyabi has effectively sealed up disorder teams as the definitive best way to play Zenless Zone Zero. All of these agents have some degree of viability at a high level, and putting them together with a good supporting piece makes for a decidedly strong team.

But of course, Miyabi won’t shine particularly brightly without the right build. Here’s how to make the character as powerful as possible.

Best W-Engine for Hoshimi Miyabi in Zenless Zone Zero

Miyabi’s signature W-Engine, Hailstorm Shrine, is the best option available and makes putting together a strong build easy. When players aren’t using it though, things quickly become hard. Here are the best options available and what they offer.

Hailstorm Shrine

Signature W-Engines are almost always the best-in-slot option for Zenless Zone Zero agents, but that’s even moreso the case when it comes to building Hoshimi Miyabi. Miyabi scales heavily on her crit rate stat, which no other anomaly agent W-Engine touches.

Miyabi wants to build up to an 80% crit rate stat, and that’s basically impossible to do without a W-Engine. While Miyabi can be made quite strong even without a crit rate-focused W-Engine, it helps quite a bit and makes the Hailstorm Shrine her best option available by a mile.

Rainforest Gourmet

The best A-rank W-Engine for Miyabi outside of Hailstorm Shrine is the Rainforest Gourmet. This is good news for players as it’s a craftable A-rank W-Engine that can be overclocked to the maximum without worry about pulling.

It doesn’t provide as much power as the Hailstorm Shrine and the dropoff is fairly steep. Still, it’s a workable option that can help Miyabi dominate the battlefield.

Cannon Rotor

Players will reflexively look to put an anomaly W-Engine onto Miyabi. For new players and those who just made some weird decisions, there might be value in using an attacker W-Engine that offers crit rate stats.

The best option is the Deep Sea Visitor, Elena’s signature W-Engine, but Nekomata’s Steel Cushion is another possibility. The Cannon Rotor from the battle pass is the best option that’s easily available, albeit not cheaply. Finally, there’s also the B-rank [Lunar] Noviluna.

Best Drive Disc build for Hoshimi Miyabi

The best Drive Disc combinations for Hoshimi Miyabi is four-piece Branch and Blade Song with a two-piece combo of either Woodpecker Electro or Polar Metal.

Building up Miyabi requires players to pay more attention to specific stats than almost any other character in Zenless Zone Zero. In particular, players want to get her as close as possible to an 80% crit rate stat. This is because Miyabi’s anomaly buildup rate is tied to her crit rate stat, rather than just anomaly stats. Here are the stats to prioritize in each Drive Disc slot:

  1. HP
  2. Attack
  3. Defense
  4. Crit Rate
  5. Ice Damage
  6. Anomaly Mastery

Players will want to consistently make sure that they have “crit rate” substats on as many Drive Disc slots as possible. Preferably at +1 or higher. Getting her crit rate stat as high as possible is important, and players have a lot of work to do when it comes to getting there.

Four-piece Branch and Blade, two-piece Woodpecker Electro

This is the best Drive Disc build for Miyabi if players don’t have her signature W-Engine. As noted, the signature W-Engine offers crit rate as a main stat and it’s the only anomaly W-Engine that offers this. If players don’t have it, it’s almost impossible to hit the optimal 80% crit rate on Miyabi.

This means the 8% crit rate boost from two-piece Woodpecker Electro is of great importance. With that 8%, and some active effort getting Drive Discs with crit rate substats, players can likely hit around 60% crit rate.

Four-piece Branch and Blade, two-piece Polar Metal

If players get Miyabi’s signature W-Engine, or use an off-role W-Engine with crit rate, two-piece Polar Metal may be the better complement for a four-piece Branch and Blade. A crit rate W-Engine offers some major progress toward that 80% mark, which affords more room for a pure damage focus with Drive Discs.

Two-piece Polar Metal’s 10% ice damage boost translates to Miyabi’s freeze attribute, despite technically being a separate attribute. If players can hit 80% crit rate without needing Woodpecker Electro, Polar Metal is the way to go.

Best Miyabi team compositions in Zenless Zone Zero

Any combination of Miyabi, a support agent, and another anomaly agent makes for a strong team. Quite simply, this framework is foolproof. But even within this framework, some options are better than others and not everyone has access to every single agent. Here are all the best team compositions for Miyabi.

Section 6 Superstars: Miyabi, Soukaku, Yanagi (Agent Gulliver)

The HSO Section 6 squad has extremely strong synergy. Except for Harumasa, who doesn’t really have synergy with his teammates.

Miyabi and Yanagi make up the strongest core for disorder teams in Zenless Zone Zero. The team can be rounded out with almost any given support, but Soukaku is a particularly strong option thanks to her ability to pass along attack buffs. Round things out with Agent Gulliver to complete an all-Section 6 squad.

For best results, Zenless Zone Zero players should make sure they’re running a support build Soukaku when pairing her with Miyabi and Yanagi.

Third-wheel Miyabi: Miyabi, Lighter, Lucy/Burnice (Red Moccus)

Miyabi has strong synergy with a few different iterations of the Sons of Calydon crew. Lighter’s ability to help both fire and ice teammates puts him in a unique spot to buff both Miyabi and some of his faction mates. Miyabi, Lighter, and Burnice makes up a strong disorder squad

Best Miyabi free-to-play team: Miyabi, Piper, Lucy/Soukaku (Red Moccus/Sharkboo)

Piper is by far the strongest A-rank character and works very well alongside any other anomaly agent. Naturally, that includes Miyabi.

From there, Miyabi gets passively buffed by having a support or Section 6 agent on her team. Lucy and Soukaku are both supports, both provide attack buffs, and both activate a two-agents-from-the-same-faction buff for Bangboos.

For players using Lucy on the team, round it out with Red Moccus. If Soukaku and Miyabi are together, roll with Sharkboo or Penguinboo. Five-star Penguinboo is better than one-star Sharkboo but otherwise, roll with Sharkboo.
