Yamato OnlyFangs

OnlyFangs member and popular streamer Yamato was sent to Gurubashi Arena as a punishment in World of Warcraft hardcore, and fans are angry that he somehow survived.

It’s almost impossible for WoW hardcore guilds to avoid drama because of the number of players involved with the game and the stakes of hardcore mode. It’s no secret that OnlyFangs in particular encourages at least some light dramatics for content and views. The latest major drama within OnlyFangs involved Jason “PirateSoftware” Thor Hall’s inaction that led to the deaths of two high-level OnlyFangs members.

The outrage from the community was so intense that OnlyFangs kicked PirateSoftware from the guild and he quit WoW hardcore altogether. This goes to show just how serious things can get in WoW hardcore and the dire consequences players can face. Now there is another drama brewing within the ranks of the OnlyFangs guild. Instead of a player’s death, this time it’s because someone survived.

Why was Yamato sent to Gurubashi Arena?

Yamato had to go to Gurubashi Arena, a free-for-all battle arena where characters are exposed to being defeated by other players, as a form of punishment because he lost a duel with Sardaco.

Yamato got into this situation because when he was picked to do the tribute chest, and he took two pieces of loot. This caused conflict with the undead’s mayor system. The undead demanded that the player trade all the items to Sardaco, who was the mayor at the time.

Yamato refused to comply, though eventually all of the items were distributed fairly through dice rolls. Another issue arose when some claimed that Yamato got the Staff of Jordan unfairly even though he rolled for it and won.

Yamato also wanted a dagger from the auction house but had to roll on it with two other undead, according to Thomas “Sodapoppin” Chance Morris’s instructions. The streamer lost on the first roll but convinced Sardaco to roll again, and he won the second roll.

This escalated the situation and 64% of the undead voted to kill him. The death vote didn’t pass because the requirement was 65%. The undead then went to guild leader Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp and urged him to arrange a duel.

How did Yamato survive Gurubashi Arena?

OnlyFangs guild members and fans say Yamato only survived Gurubashi Arena because few, if any, players really tried to kill his character.

After the undead went to Tyler1, he ordered a duel between Yamato and Sardaco due to the conflict. The players fought and Sardaco got the upper hand, so Yamato was given a punishment. He had to survive for a specific amount of time in Gurubashi Arena because he lost the duel.

Yamato managed to survive in the arena but guild members and fans complained it was unfair. Most players avoided fighting Yamato, making his survival fairly uneventful. This led to further drama over whether the supposed punishment was much of a punishment at all.

Popular streamer Jaryd “Summit1G” Lazar called out Tyler1 for not giving other players enough time to form groups to fight Yamato in the arena. He claimed that the duration Tyler1 wanted Yamato to survive in the arena was too low and made the punishment way too easy for him to escape.

Fans can be certain that more drama is to follow, however this all plays out.
