xQc frustrated on Twitch

Two of the most popular personalities in the streaming world, Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Imane “Pokimane” Anys, are currently beefing over streaming contracts on Twitch and Kick, respectively.

xQc challenged Pokimane to “leak” her Twitch contract during a recent stream while reacting to an interview with the popular streaming star. In the interview, Pokimane was explaining how content creators were given contracts by streaming platforms like Twitch and Kick to exclusively stream on those platforms. She said that the contracts can reach up to $20 million in exchange for exclusivity.

“Anything beyond that… I’ve seen certain headlines but I cannot confirm,” Pokimane said.

The host then asked Pokimane if she saw the headlines announcing xQc’s $100 million contract with Kick. Pokimane replied that she’s heard “different things behind the scenes,” including one possibility that it’s being paid in a variety of ways, such as via equity, or that it could have been made up entirely for attention.

xQc responds to Pokimane’s Kick contract skepticism

xQc appeared frustrated as he listened to Pokimane’s contract discussion. He told fans that the contract was “very under wraps” and was only between himself, Kick CEO Edward “Eddy” Craven, and xQc’s agent, who apparently leaked the amount.

“I’m confused how Pokimane heard anything behind the scenes,” xQc said. “Who is behind the scenes? Who are these people? Who are saying what? I don’t get it.”

xQc called the equity question “public speculation,” seeming to reiterate that his contract with Kick was indeed for $100 million in straight cash. He even said he would show proof if the “bulls— would stop.” He claimed there’s “no equity and no gambling” in his exclusive contract with Kick.

In her interview, Pokimane also spoke to her own career, saying how happy she was to get a contract with Twitch since she would be paid to continue doing what she loved. She mentioned that she “lucked out” since exclusive streaming deals were no longer being given out in this way.

“I think she speaks a lot about deals. So I actually challenge her… How about you leak the deal you have, the legacy deal you had back in the day and the more recent one?” xQc said. “And we can compare or think about what those entail.”

Pokimane’s exclusive contract with Twitch ended at the start of 2024. Since then, Pokimane has refused to sign another contract with Twitch or any other site for exclusivity. She has yet to respond to xQc’s challenge, probably in an attempt to avoid further beef with the streamer after a recent spat revolving around a Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl halftime show. Pokimane had claimed that “only white people” disliked Kendrick’s performance, which xQc called a “ridiculous analysis.”
