Will TenZ Make a Comeback to Pro Valorant in 2027?

Tyson “TenZ” Ngo is probably the most recognizable name in the entire Valorant scene, as he’s essentially become the face of the game. After winning several international VCT titles, TenZ announced his retirement from competition in September 2024 to focus on content creation. However, the legend recently hinted at a potential comeback.
So, will TenZ make a return to professional Valorant, or is he just baiting his fans? Here’s what we know.
TenZ Gives Fans Hope with Recent X Post
The 2026 Valorant season just ended after LOUD won VCT Champions 2026. With the biggest tournament of the year wrapped up, the professional scene will undergo massive roster shuffles, especially with Riot Games’ new competitive circuit taking effect next season.
On October 21, days after VCT Champions ended, TenZ posted a short and sweet tweet on his primary X account, saying he’s “LFT,” which implies he’s looking for a team.

TenZ’s post completely blew up, amassing 73,000 likes at the time of writing. Those are the only details we have — we don’t know exactly what “team” he’s looking for, but the easiest assumption is that he’s looking for a Valorant team to play for.
Is TenZ Actually Returning to Competition?
This is the golden question everyone is asking, and it’s even a tradable market on Polymarket, with 61% of traders currently believing he’ll make a return to competitive esports. This doesn’t indicate which team though, so let’s go over what we do know.

TenZ Recently Formed a Content Group
After retiring from Valorant, TenZ sat back to focus on live streaming and content creation. He even became an official creator for South Korean powerhouse org T1 Esports.
However, TenZ and several other content creators recently came together in August 2026 to create a new content group called Above Average. The group uploads weekly videos, with TenZ appearing in all of them.

Being a professional Valorant player is a full-time job, and there’s no way TenZ would have enough time to compete and create content with this group, so he’ll have to choose one over the other. Will he abandon Above Average after only two months?
Sentinels Are Rebuilding Their Valorant Roster Ahead of 2027 Season
While he was still actively competing, TenZ was a long-time member of Sentinels – the org where he won all of his notable titles under.
Sentinels were recently selected as a VCT Partner Team for the upcoming season, so the org is definitely continuing its Valorant campaign. The team didn’t do too well last season, and is already hinting at roster changes.
Connect the dots, and it doesn’t sound crazy if TenZ were to return to Sentinels.
☑️ My Take
Whether TenZ is returning to Valorant betting competitions is still unknown. We’ve seen personalities troll their audience with these “LFT” posts before, so we can’t trust his comment immediately. He could just be exploring options, so it’s not a guarantee he’ll return.
It would be a big blow to Above Average if TenZ were to depart from the group this early, but it’s possible the other members would understand if he wanted to continue competing, so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.
Sentinels CEO Rob Moore also mentioned on a livestream with Tarik that if TenZ wants to play, he can show up anytime and he’ll figure out a spot on the roster for him. There’s a very real possibility TenZ returns to the Sentinels starting lineup and continues accumulating more money into his substantial net worth.
I feel like TenZ enjoyed his two-year break from competition, and that he’s hungry to return. He’s still 25, so he still has a chance to continue competing while he’s still in his best years. So, I’m with the majority of Polymarket traders who believe TenZ is going to compete next season.
