Will Chrono Tokens carry over in Marvel Rivals?
NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals has taken the gaming scene by storm and some players might want to know whether their Chrono Tokens will carry over to the new seasons.
The free-to-play Marvel Rivals became one of the most successful games of 2024. The game broke
Steam records
on the day of its release. In addition, according to
Marvel Rivals developers, 20 million players had signed up by mid-December 2024. This is a huge feat accomplished in just two weeks. One of the most enjoyable things about Marvel Rivals is the variety of
superhero skins
players can purchase. Players need the in-game currency Chrono Tokens to buy skins and other items.
Since Chrono Tokens are such an important part of Marvel Rivals, players might want to know whether they will carry over to future new seasons.
Will Chrono Tokens carry over to new Marvel Rivals seasons?
A blog post on the Marvel Rivals website confirmed that the Chrono Tokens will not carry over to any new seasons.
The Dev Diaries blog
stated that all accumulated Chrono Tokens and their total count will be reset at the beginning of every new season. The blog post explained a method has been devised to ensure Tokens aren’t wasted. Marvel Rivals will do this using a method called the Automatic Item Redemption.
If a player ends the Marvel Rivals season with surplus Chrono Tokens, the system will automatically claim all remaining available items from the battle pass. The Chrono Tokens remaining after claiming all unclaimed items from the battle pass will be reset.

Some players
might wonder what will happen to Lattice-purchased Chrono Tokens. The blog post explained that the utmost will be done to carry over the surplus of Chrono Tokens purchased using Lattice.
The first method is the same as normal Chrono Tokens where the system will purchase the remaining battle pass items. If any Chrono Tokens remain after that a portion will be carried over to the next season of Marvel Rivals.
The exact amount of Chrono Tokens will be the lesser of the remaining Tokens and the total Tokens brought with Lattice in the current season. The carried-over Tokens will be treated as “purchased with Lattice” and will continue to be carried over in the subsequent seasons.
Chrono Tokens carried over will be sent to players via in-game mail when the new Marvel Rivals season starts. Players can then access the battle pass faster than those having to grind to collect Tokens.
