Why Twitch's most popular Turkish streamer Elraenn moved to Kick

Why did Elraenn, Twitch's most popular Turkish streamer, move to Kick?

While Tugkan “Elraenn” Gonultas first made his name as the most popular Turkish streamer on Twitch, he has since become one of many streamers to move their content and audiences to a new home on Kick, and we can explain both why and how he became so popular to begin with.

Kick has quickly gained a reputation among streamers as being one of the best places for content creation. For many, the revenue split is way more profitable there than on other sites. For others, they appreciate the looser restrictions on speech and materials that can be streamed. And still others have moved to Kick simply because of streaming conflicts within their own home countries.

While Twitch may be one of the biggest streaming platforms going today, bigger doesn’t always mean better for everyone. Elraenn has taken the audience he built on one platform and used it to make a multi-platform empire as the most popular streamer on Twitch become just as big on Kick and beyond.

Who is Elraenn?

Elraenn is a gaming content creator and influencer who became the most popular Turkish streamer on Twitch before transitioning to Kick and YouTube.

The content creator began streaming on Twitch in 2017 with gaming videos centered around Valorant, Fortnite, and other popular titles. He first passed 1 million followers in 2020 grew even more quickly from there. Currently, Elraenn has 4.63 million followers on Twitch, making him the most popular Turkish streamer on the website.

However, he has not been active on Twitch since 2024 and has since put his energy into other streaming endeavors, which mainly include Kick and YouTube.

According to his Kick profile, Elraenn has already managed to gain just over a million followers on the newer livestreaming platform. This puts him in an elite group of streamers on the relatively new platform to surpass that major milestone.

He joins fellow Turkish streamer Mert “Rraenee” Yilmaz as two of the top streamers on Kick. Though Elraenn hasn’t streamed as much on the site since early 2025, his fans there are ever eager to join in on his return.

Where Elraenn is most active now is on his YouTube channel, where he has 3.5 million followers. The streamer has switched focuses from big games to whatever game he finds enjoyment in. Recent examples have included RV There Yet?, Devour the Carnival, and Goose Goose Duck. Fans can also sometimes catch a vlog or two and a behind-the-scened look into Elraenn’s life.

The creator has also joined other streamers in becoming a Kings League president for two teams. The first is Turkey in the 2025 Kings World Cup, and the second is Limon FC in the KWC Clubs.

Why did Elraenn leave Twitch for Kick?

Like several other of the most popular Turkish streamers, Elraenn switched from Twitch to Kick following the implementation of new laws in his home country limiting access to Twitch.

In February 2024, the Turkish government cracked down on both Twitch and Kick for distributing gambling content. Even for streamers like Elraenn who didn’t make gambling and betting content online, the restrictions ended up having a heavy impact. Kick eventually limited access for Turkish viewers and was allowed back into the country, while Twitch is technically still banned in the region.

Because of this, many popular Turkish Twitch streamers ended up moving their content to Kick. Elraenn was one of the biggest Turkish names to switch from Twitch to Kick and likely was an influence on others to follow him and do the same.

He does not yet have the following on Kick that he had previously; if he returns to streaming on the platform more regularly, though, he could certainly start to come close. After all, surpassing the million-follower count on Kick is a huge achievement, and speaks to how large and loyal his audience really is.

Fans looking to find Elraenn content should head to YouTube first for the time being, where he posts a few videos a week. But the streamer may eventually decide to get back to livestreaming on Kick more consistently, and his fans should keep an eye out for when that happens.
