AsianAndy Kick ban

Kick unexpectedly banned popular streamer Steven “AsianAndy” Van, and he made a point of sharing the reason why as well as further details about his suspension from the platform.

AsianAndy initially began his content creation career with a YouTube channel in 2006, but he didn’t become consistent about his content until 2017. He worked as an Uber driver before transitioning into a full-time content creator. His content primarily revolves around IRL streams, with one of his most notable streams featuring him sleeping while allowing viewers to use text-to-speech donations to wake him up. That stream reportedly earned him thousands of dollars in one night with the unique concept, though not everyone though it was such a great idea.

AsainAndy is now in the news once again, and this time it’s because Kick has banned him from the platform for a reason many of his fans disagree with.

Why did Kick ban AsianAndy?

Kick has apparently banned AsianAndy for “targeted harassment” of another streamer, Sam Pepper, who had also been banned.

Kick hasn’t issued an official statement regarding AsianAndy’s ban or exactly which rules the streamer violated for his channel to be taken down and suspended. AsianAndy has, however, issued a statement revealing that Kick banned him for harassment, which he claimed came in the form of him criticizing fellow streamer Sam Pepper over a recent firecracker incident.

AsianAndy also claimed that Sam Pepper’s Discord mods were spamming reports of his channel, which led to the suspension. The streamer alleged that the planning for this was done in a public Discord, without any real attempt to hide it, and he shared apparent evidence of Discord users discussing the attempt.

The original incident occurred during Sam Pepper’s IRL India stream when the content creator and others on his stream were playing with fireworks. One firecracker unexpectedly hurt an innocent bystander. Sam Pepper was then banned from Kick and received much backlash from the streaming community in general. Sam Pepper’s channel was initially reinstated, but later was seemingly permanently banned because of the continued outrage from around the community.

AsianAndy has been one of the most vocal, asking for Sam Pepper to take accountability for his alleged actions. He claimed that his repeated messages to Sam Pepper are what led to the eventual ban for “harassment.”

The screenshot the streamer shared lists the reason for his ban as “targeted harassment,” which is against Kick’s rules and can lead to harsh punishments. The content creator is claiming he was motivated only by his moral correctness in questioning Sam Pepper for his actions, but Kick cited the resulting harassment as a violation and banned him from the platform.

AsianAndy’s Kick ban isn’t permanent, and the screenshot he shared displays that the suspension will be lifted on December 2 and he’ll be able to stream on Kick once again.
