A memorable new game, Content King, has just been released on Steam.  It has received serious traction already, with the level of realism what stands out, and there are also real-life streamers appearing as characters.

This original and satirical new release hit Steam on March 19, developed by Usurper Studios. As a simulation game, Content King, has made it possible for viewers to take on the role of content creators.

Players can create content and create a life revolving around their streaming activities. These range from collaborating with popular creators to starting controversies to get viewers. Here’s everything to know about Content King, including which real streamers allegedly appear in the game.

What is Content King?

Content King is a satirical game that has players taking on the role of a livestreamer who’s ready to do anything to get famous.

The RPG game Content King is essentially a Sims version for streamers. Caden Brentley is an up-and-coming livestreamer and the main playable character. The objective of the game is straightforward, with Caden pulling outrageous stunts in a bid to get viewers and go viral.

The concept is similar to broadcasts of infamous IRL streamers, such as Paul “Ice Poseidon” Denino. While players have no choice but to do more and more edgy things to make their content stand out, there are drawbacks. The game’s core mechanism includes Caden potentially facing bans, mirroring real-life live-streaming platforms like Twitch.

Content King has sandbox elements, but it isn’t a true open-world game. The game’s world is structured to a large extent, with players having significant freedom in the content they create. This is why there is no fixed route players follow or a specific ending that everyone will get.

Players can create a specific persona for their streaming life, make decisions that can benefit or harm them, and also collaborate with other content creators. The collaborations are instrumental in the game gaining so much traction, as there are multiple real-life personalities who appear in the game.

Technical details

Available to buy and download on Steam, Content King is tagged under Adventure, RPG, and Simulation sections. The download requires 9 GB available storage space on your PC device as well as an OS of at least Windows 10. In terms of graphics, NVIDIA RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5700 are recommended.

Real-life streamer cameos in Content King

Several real-life content creators appear in Content King, and players can befriend them or start drama to chase views and get famous.

Streamers have long been infamous for chasing drama, and Content King replicates this element to a great extent. Caden can react to drama or create his own by starting beef with streamers. The linkup doesn’t always have to be negative, as Caden could also collaborate to boost both his and the streamer’s audiences.

Multiple real content creators appear as NPCs, with different names, but voiced by themselves. Félix “xQc” Lengyel went viral when he discovered that his character isn’t voiced by him, and he discussed his disappointment in a stream. There is no official list for the streamers that appear in the game, but players have reported which content creators they have seen; some appear as NPCs, while others only have cameos.

These streamers can reportedly be seen in Content King:

With the game only just launched, we are sure that further streamers will be confirmed as appearing in Content King, and this is a title that certainly has potential to be a streamer favorite for years to come.
