2024 saw the end of many iconic shounen manga. My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen ended their manga runs on a high note. While these finales were exciting, many readers felt a void that needed filling. Soon after, Dandadan’s TV debut exploded in popularity. The series quickly became a favorite, as the chaotic blend of supernatural and extraterrestrial captivated audiences.

The first season of Dandadan ended in December 2024. Immediately after the final episode’s airing, Season 2 of Dandadan was greenlit, cementing its status as the next big shonen anime. But with the second season months away, some fans want to catch up immediately on Okarun and Momo’s misadventures.

What manga chapter should I start reading after Dandadan Season 1?

Season 1 watchers should start reading the Dandadan manga from Chapter 34. The ominous cliffhanger of Episode 12 left viewers clamoring for answers. Although anime onlies will have to wait a while, manga readers already know what’s coming. Those who haven’t caught up with the Dandadan manga can catch up by reading Chapter 34.

Hardcore fans also suggest reading Dandadan from the start. While Science SARU did a fantastic job adapting Dandadan, many readers find the manga offered a different yet equally gorgeous art style. If nothing else, it serves as a quick refresher of the previous episodes.

What story arcs will Dandadan Season 2 adapt?

Dandadan Season 2 will adapt the Cursed House arc.  The arc follows Momo and Okarun helping out Jiji, Momo’s childhood friend. An evil spirit haunts his house, but the pair quickly discovers that the house has more secrets than mere ghosts.

If readers just want to read simultaneously with the anime, the Cursed House arc starts in Chapter 28 and ends in Chapter 50.

Who will animate Dandadan Season 2?

Science Saru will continue animating Dandadan in Season 2. The Season 2 announcement came straight from Science Saru’s official social media account. The tweet confirms Science Saru will animate Season 2. Fans of the anime were excited to hear this, as the studio remains very popular.

Before Dandadan, the studio impressed viewers with works such as Space Dandy, Devilmany Crybaby, and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken. The chaotic, slick yet technically proficient style of the studio fit Dandadan to a tee.

When is the release date of Dandadan Season 2?

Dandadan Season 2 will premiere on July 2025. International viewers can watch Dandadan on Crunchyroll and Netflix. The release of a second season mere months after the first confirms how much faith there is in the series’ staying power.

Many fans believe that Dandadan adhering to a weekly release format ensured its success on Netflix. In the past, Netflix released exclusive anime such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean in large chunks.

Viewers claim the binge format killed the discussion for Stone Ocean.  Since Dandadan Season 1 came out weekly, Season 2 will likely follow the same format. Given the massive popularity boost of Dandadan, even a binge release likely wouldn’t stop hype among fans.
