Secret Woods in Stardew Valley

Players can reclaim lost items from Stardew Valley’s Lost Items Shop, but how does it work and where can you find it? Here’s what you need to know.

The core gameplay loop of Stardew Vally involves performing activities such as farming and fishing to acquire new items and grow an inherited farm. From sculptures to sewing machines, there’s much for players to obtain, whether through discovery or by completing missions and crafting items. But what do players do when they lose a special item by dying in the mines or accidentally discarding them?

That’s where the Lost Items Shop comes in. Added as part of Stardew Valley’s 1.6.9 update, the Lost Items Shop serves as a sort of lost and found system. The only catch is that players must pay a hefty price to reacquire their lost items.

Where is the Lost Items Shop in Stardew Valley?

Stardew Valley’s Lost Items Shop is in the Secret Woods, which can be reached via the upper left corner of Cindersap Forest.

Players must go where the Traveling Cart appears on Fridays and Sundays before proceeding west to enter the Secret Woods. Continue west after entering the Secret Woods to reach the statue surrounded by broken pillars. The black crow with red eyes northeast of the statue manages the Lost Items Shop.

The Lost Items Shop

It’s important to note there are some prerequisites before players can spawn the Lost Items Shop. Firstly, the Secret Woods’ entrance is initially blocked by a large log that players must clear by using an iron axe or better. Additionally, the merchant doesn’t spawn on the same day as when an item is lost. Players must wait until the next day before returning to the Secret Woods to find the crow merchant.

Finally, the lost item must be something players can’t obtain through regular gameplay. Such items are usually those that aren’t obtainable again after listing them, like relationship gifts and special order rewards.

Therefore, if the player doesn’t see the Lost Items Shop, they likely either need to come back the next day it’s available, or they haven’t actually lost a qualified item.

As for how much players must dish out to recover their item, every item in the Lost Items Shop costs 10,000 gold. Fortunately, there’s no rush to collect the required gold, as the vendor doesn’t disappear for as long as players have lost items that need to be recovered.

What items can be bought from the Lost Items Shop?

The Lost Items Shop sells unrecoverable items like relationship gifts and quest rewards, which can be bought after they’re lost to get them back.

Leah's Sculpture in Stardew Valley

Players shouldn’t expect to find items they can obtain through other methods in the Lost Items Shop. Below is every item players can recover from the Lost Items Shop in Stardew Valley.

Additionally, it’s important to note that any player can purchase a lost item from the shop in a multiplayer Stardew Valley session, even if they weren’t the original owner of that item before it was lost.
