How Long Will We Have To Wait for GTA 6 on PC?

The hype for GTA 6 is not slowing down, and this is before marketing from Rockstar Games goes into full swing ahead of the November 19 release date. However, with the game only initially releasing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S devices, fans are already wondering when the PC launch may be — and traders at Kalshi markets are having their say.

Fans were dismayed about GTA 6 having no physical discs, but recent leaks and confirmed story details from Rockstar have ensured that fans are fully ready to dive into all that Vice City has to offer in just two months. However, history tells us that those waiting to play on PC could have a substantial wait to enjoy the story of Jason and Lucia.

What other Rockstar titles indicate about a GTA 6 PC launch

GTA 6 will release on November 19, 2026, but there is no information about a PC launch. This isn’t surprising, as Rockstar has a history of doing this with other games as well.

GTA V was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. The game’s PC version was released almost 19 months after the console launch. Rockstar upgraded the PC version with 4K support, 60 FPS, and more. If Rockstar follows the same pattern, then GTA 6 could plausibly get a PC version with some more goodies before 2028 ends.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is another Rockstar title whose PC version got a similar treatment to GTA V. The game was released for consoles in October 2018, but PC players had to wait roughly 12 months as it was launched in November 2019. Rockstar refined RDR2’s PC version as well, with the game getting 4K support, graphics enhancements, and more.

An interesting thing about GTA V’s PC version is that it also included GTA Online. According to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, GTA 6 multiplayer may launch in 2027. If this proves to be true, the game’s PC launch may also happen then. However, these are both yet to be confirmed.

Kalshi weighs in on whether GTA 6 will launch for PC before 2028 or not

The prediction market is specifically trading on whether Rockstar Games will release GTA 6 on PC before January 1, 2028. The current implied probability has “yes” at 65%, and 45% for the game not launching before 2028. Kalshi’s contract can be satisfied if GTA 6 is released on a schedule similar to RDR2. This contract is a binary yes-or-no trade, so there are only two possible outcomes.

Yes is trading at 63¢, while No is at 43¢. This means if the outcome is Yes, those who purchase Yes contracts will receive $1 per contract, while if the outcome is No, those who purchase No contracts will receive $1 per contract.

While the Kalshi market indicates that the majority think the GTA 6 PC launch will happen before 2028, if the game is anything like GTA V, the outcome may be the least favored one. It remains to be seen if Rockstar Games gives an update ahead of the game’s initial launch.

☑️ My View: PC gamers will need to be patient

Many people are convinced that GTA 6 will eventually release on PC, and it’s just a matter of time. However, others have speculated whether Rockstar could make a major move by only making the game exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PS5. This speculation isn’t logical, as PC players make up a larger revenue base for Take-Two.

GTA 6 is almost certain to release on PC eventually, and even Rockstar’s history indicates that it’s normal for the version to launch at a later date. Some fans are trying to associate the PC launch with physical discs, but both are different things, and ultimately it is a numbers game for Rockstar and parent company Take-Two. Until then, Kalshi’s prediction market is the way to work out when that will be.
