After all the controversy and drama the OnlyFangs World of Warcraft Classic hardcore guild has faced, many fans are wondering when it will finally have its first raid.
The OnlyFangs World of Warcraft guild has faced much controversy. From people getting kicked for breaking the rules to streamers dying at high levels and wasting dozens of hours in the process, fans have had a blast with the shenanigans the streamers have been up to. Those who just started following the guild may not know where it’s all headed.
Everything the OnlyFangs guild went through has led up to its first major raid. The guild’s meeting finalized when the raid will be, though the many deaths since may make fans wonder whether the raid will be postponed.
While the initial date for the OnlyFangs guild’s first raid was January 18, 2025, it will likely be delayed.
An OnlyFangs guild meeting on December 24, 2024, concluded with a January 18, 2025 date for the its first 40-player raid in WoW Classic hardcore. However, Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris later went on stream to state that the date seemed very unlikely. The apparent delay was because of how many guild members were dying after hitting high levels. Sodapoppin himself fell at level 60 and had to level up again, though others like Emily “Emiru” Schunk weren’t as lucky.
While a January 18 raid date seems unlikely now, Sodapoppin said he won’t delay the raid past February 1, 2025. The steamer stated that he wants to have more newbies in the raid as opposed to more veteran WoW players to ensure things are more entertaining for viewers. Because of this preference, he wants to give members enough time to level up and learn the game.
It’s important to note that while Sodapoppin said all of this, he isn’t the current acting leader of OnlyFangs. Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp is the guild’s current leader, and there’s a chance he may go through with the planned raid schedule regardless of Sodapoppin’s preferences. Sodapoppin and Tyler1 have both played the role of Guild Master.
According to Sodapoppin, OnlyFangs will likely conduct multiple raids, all with a different raid leader.
In the guild meeting that determined the initial raid schedule, Sodapoppin stated that he would lead the first raid. Tyler1 would lead a raid the following week when the raid instance resets, followed by another possible raid. After that, every subsequent raid will have a new leader.
Multiple streamers were named-dropped by Sodapoppin as possible raid leaders, including Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo. The streamer stated the most entertaining guild member would lead raids while having lifelines like “phone a friend.”
It remains to be seen how many streamers stick around for the long run of WoW hardcore raiding. Many fans believe most members are only in OnlyFangs for the first raid and will drop off after it, but with how much time many of them have now dedicated to their characters, they may have trouble walking away anytime soon.
UPDATE: The first OnlyFangs WoW Classic hardcore raid has been rescheduled for February 1, when the group will be attempting Molten Core.
