Twitch is introducing a new SubFeeds feature for its clips feed to enhance the platform’s scrolling experience by allowing viewers to customize exactly what they see, expanding one of the platform’s best tools for filtering the types of content users most want to see.

Streaming platforms have become an increasingly competitive market with the likes of Kick and Twitch introducing new features to better entice users. In May, Twitch finally announced that the platform would be introducing a much-requested rewind feature, a vertical stream feature, and 2K streaming.  Twitch is apparently still cooking up new features for viewers and streamers alike, and has now announced another revised feature that will be rolling out soon as Twitch SubFeeds is evolving to improve users’ experiences with increased customization.

How do Twitch SubFeeds work?

Twitch’s SubFeeds is a feature that adds categories to the top of a user’s feeds, allowing users to customize their personal feed according to their individual preferences.

The Twitch SubFeed feature isn’t new, as the platform’s live streaming feed category already makes use of it, but its latest implementation is a fresh addition to the platform. The feature is straightforward in that it adds specific categories that viewers can use to filter their feed. Twitch aims to help make viewers’ experience better with SubFeeds, as viewers can choose preferred categories and limit which types of streams shown in the clips feed. This can make scrolling feeds more efficient with more relevant content, and can also help small content creators who cater to users’ specific interests to become more visible.

Twitch SubFeeds

Twitch has three different feed categories that viewers can browse and scroll through. These include following, live, and clips. The “following” feed displays the streams of the livestreamers a given user already follows. The “live” feed displays streams of various streamers who are currently live. The “clips” feed is a discovery tool through which viewers can watch short clips of streamers’ content..

The clips feed is a great way to discover new content creators and quickly sort out which ones users might find entertaining without having to sit through extended streams, but it has an issue. There previously wasn’t any way for viewers to filter this feed to only be shown the types streamers they were interested in. Twitch is changing that by adding the SubFeeds feature to the clips feed. Viewers will now more easily be able to choose different categories from the top of the clip feeds. There will still be an option to select all categories and not limit the feed in any way, but if a viewer wants a specific filter for the types of clips that are shown, they can now select any desired categories towards that end.

Twitch hasn’t shared a hard date for the feature’s launch, but has stated that the rollout will begin prior to the end of July 2025.
