What happened to FaZe Clan: Members leave, Adin Ross speaks

FaZe Clan’s content creator roster has thinned out fast, with big names parting ways and little clarity from the organization that have left fans asking what happened. Here’s what we actually know about the sudden wave of exits, the current FaZe roster, and the organization’s ownership.

Christmas 2025 now looks like the final FaZemas at the organization’s house, at least the one that hosts its current lineup of content creators. On December 25, several notable names from FaZe’s entertainment side posted identical departure announcements on X, implying the move had been both planned and coordinated. Rani “Stable Ronaldo” Netz was the first to go public, and four other members quickly followed with confirmations of their own exits.

The posts made it clear these exits weren’t coincidental and had been in motion for some time. Still, no explanation was given for why the creators left or what this means for FaZe Clan going forward, leaving those around the streaming world asking what happened to trigger such a wave of departures.

Why did everyone leave FaZe Clan?

According to Kick streamer Adin Ross, the FaZe Clan exodus resulted from contractual disagreements between the members who left and its ownership. Maxwell “Plaqueboymax” Dent has also provided background suggesting that tension had been brewing for some time.

These are all FaZe Clan members who left the organization on December 25:

By the following day, December 26, two more members had left FaZe Clan:

Stable Ronaldo’s “left FaZe” message was followed by the rest of the creators, but Adapt’s exit stood out the most. As a longtime member who spent more than 14 years with FaZe, his decision fueled speculation that the situation inside the organization may be far more serious than it appears.

Adin Ross suggested the departures may have been triggered by FaZe pushing for a cut of creator income only after they those streamers had become big, not when their contracts were first signed. He admitted that it was speculation, but Plaqueboymax’s own accounts from inside FaZe hinted that tension over control and money wasn’t exactly new.

When Plaqueboymax left FaZe in August, fans didn’t suspect much as the streamer cited his music career as the primary reason for his departure. He’s now said that the tensions between creators and management had been ongoing and pointed to the messy situation around Lacy’s alleged firing in May 2025, when Banks publicly claimed Lacy had been kicked out. Lacy eventually returned, but the incident left fans questioning what was happening behind the scenes.

Plaqueboymax claimed Lacy was removed from FaZe for missing a few video shoots, raising concerns among creators about the extent of their control over their content and careers. He avoided sharing financial details due to contracts and related obligations, but his cousin and fellow streamer FDB alleged that FaZe tried to charge Plaqueboymax $20,000 for the house he lived in.

On stream, Plaqueboymax didn’t dispute that figure, saying he couldn’t discuss specifics, but FDB could say what he wanted, suggesting there may be some truth to the claims.

“So, this is to tell y’all this – we have no control,” Plaqueboymax said. “There was no control, and it’s like we’re puppets. At least, that’s what it felt like.”

Even though Richard “Banks” Bengtson stepped down from FaZe in July 2025, many immediately assumed he had a role in the departures. He denied those claims in an X post, but then followed up with a lengthy post accusing the former creators of being “ungrateful.”

“I think it’s disgusting. It makes me sick to my stomach that your guys’ relationship with each other, with every other streamer, and your community, including, is so incredibly fake,” Banks said. “You guys are the best actors on planet Earth, and you’ve made a complete career out of all of it.”

As of now, FaZe is only following five other creators, out of whom only ZooMaa and Kaysan have so much as addressed the situation. According to ZooMaa, FaZe Clan’s esports teams remain unaffected by the exits.

Did Adin Ross buy FaZe Clan?

As word of the FaZe departures spread, Adin Ross jumped in on X, claiming that he had bought the organization. He’s previously claimed that he owns a 20% stake in FaZe, later suggesting that he “saved” the organization.

Whether Adin Ross is actually serious about buying FaZe is unclear. But back in April 2025, shortly after GameSquare retained full ownership of the organization, he told Lacy on stream that he owned a 20% stake in FaZe. Lacy looked just as surprised as fans at the time, who had never heard of Ross having any ownership at all.

It’s worth noting that Adin once claimed to have equity in Kick before later walking that back.

For now, it’s unclear what’s next for FaZe, but many fans speculate that the creators who have left will likely build their own organization. The timing of the exits suggests that plenty of conversations have already taken place.
