Team Vitality won IEM Katowice 2025 and the team is set to return to action in ESL Pro League Season 21 with a match against MIBR.
Vitality is already a storied organization with loads of prominent tournament wins and a superstar on its roster. Adding an IEM Katowice championship to the mantel is still a big one, though. The team’s current iteration is arguably its best ever, having also won IEM Cologne in August.
Its next step comes in the second stage of ESL Pro League Season 21 where it will join a “CS Swiss” group stage. Its first task is to defeat MIBR.
Team Vitality and MIBR will face off in the opening round of stage two of ESL Pro League Season 21 in a best-of-three match. MIBR had to earn its way into the second stage, going 3-1 in the first stage. Vitality received an invite to stage two.
GRAND FINAL! Vitality vs Spirit – HIGHLIGHTS – IEM Katowice 2025 | CS2
Vitality is entering ESL Pro League Season 21 as one of the favorites to win. The team won IEM Katowice 2025 and will be looking to maintain that form going forward.
Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut continue to anchor Vitality’s roster. The team added Robin “ropz” Kool in January, and looks to be better off for it.
Team Vitality has an incredible record on every map, except for Anubis. Vitality’s strength on Train is also uncertain, as the team has only played there once. That one time was a close win over Virtus.pro.
MIBR enters this match after going 3-1 in the first stage of ESL Pro League Season 21. That follows early eliminations from PGL Cluj-Napoca and IEM Katowice.
ESL Pro League Season 21 is brnz4n’s first event back on MIBR and the team has looked generally solid with him. That may or may not inspire a bit more confidence with the team here. Here is MIBR’s current roster:
Over the last three months, MIBR has a close-to-even record across most maps. Its worst map is Mirage, where it has a 6-14 record over the last three months. Ancient is its best map, though it has also taken some big losses against higher-end competition there.
MIBR has never won a game against Team Vitality in its history. The teams have faced off four times, with Vitality winning each showdown. Their last faceoff came at the Shanghai Major in December, where Vitality won 2-0.
Team Vitality is pegged as an enormous favorite against MIBR, with the odds roughly standing at 1.04 to MIBR at 10.4 depending on the sportsbook. Vitality is well inside “prohibitive favorite” territory, where the return on a winning bet doesn’t offer enough of a return to bother with. That means bettors will have to get a bit creative.
GamerLegion vs MIBR – HIGHLIGHTS – ESL Pro League Season 21 | CS2
Team Vitality is highly likely to beat MIBR, and the betting odds speak to that. There’s some hope that MIBR might have regained its old form with the addition of brnz4n or that Vitality might be a bit rusty after sitting out PGL Cluj-Napoca, but “some hope” likely translates to a moral victory rather than an actual one.
