Two of the biggest winners of early 2025 are coming together in openers of BLAST Open Spring 2025, but how should bettors approach Astralis vs Team Vitality?
Team Vitality is coming into BLAST’s next event hot. The team scored a massive 3-0 victory over MOUZ to seal up a first-place finish in ESL Pro League Season 21. That gives the team a reasonable claim to being Counter-Strike’s best team; so how can Astralis challenge them? Here’s a full breakdown of where these two teams are coming from in this matchup.
GRAND FINAL! MOUZ vs Vitality – HIGHLIGHTS – ESL Pro League Season 21 | CS2
Team Vitality and Astralis will face off in the opening round of BLAST Open Spring’s group stage. The match will take place in a best-of-three format in a double-elimination bracket with eight teams. The winner will face the winner of Virtus.pro vs FaZe Clan, though the loser continues on in the lower bracket.
Team Vitality’s 2025 is off to a good start. The addition of Robin “ropz” Kool has seemingly kicked the team into a higher gear; a scary notion given how strong it already was. Vitality is coming off back-to-back first-place finishes in IEM Katowice 2025 and ESL Pro League Season 21.
Here is Vitality’s full roster:
Vitality has been roundly great across almost all maps. Over the last three months, the team is undefeated on Dust 2, Inferno, and Train. Its winrate is over 75% on Nuke and Mirage. The exceptions are a .500 record on Anubis and its auto-ban of Ancient.
Astralis struggled in the latter half of 2025, but there was a glimmer of hope for the team with the controversial addition of Casper “cadiaN” Møller. Those hopes seemingly paid off with the team going from an afterthought at PGL Cluj-Napoca to a third-place finish. For the first time in a while, it’s seemingly gaining momentum.
Here is the team’s roster
Astralis is weak on Dust 2 and Mirage, with a winrate well below 50% on either map over the last six months. It has a 60% or higher winrate on Train, Nuke, and Inferno.
CRAZY DECIDER MATCH FOR 3rd PLACE! Astralis vs FaZe – HIGHLIGHTS – PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 | CS2
Since the introduction of Counter-Strike 2, Vitality has won five out of its six matches against Astralis. The two teams haven’t played against one another in a while, though. Their last match came at the 2024 BLAST Premier Fall Final, which was actually cadiaN’s debut with Astralis. Astralis has gelled around its new captain, though it’s not certain whether they’ve gelled to the point where they can challenge Vitality.
Vitality is a huge 1.18 favorite against Astralis. The moneyline on Astralis is 4.75. That makes it quite difficult to approach betting on Vitality, but there’s still some value to be had.
Everything points to Vitality taking a decisive victory over Astralis in the opening round of BLAST Open Spring 2025. While Astralis has improved and could be on its way to recapturing some of the organization’s former glory, Vitality is too hot to doubt.
