A seed of doubt for this match’s result may have been planted in some all the way back when Vitality lost to Team Falcons in BLAST Bounty Winter. After all, Vitality went from unstoppable in the first half of 2025 to “just” being a top-five team after the BLAST Austin Major.

The results IEM Krakow should have curbed those doubts, however.

Star player Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was extraordinary in Poland and helped the team look as strong as it ever has. Facing a tough lineup of opponents including BC.Game Esports, 3DMAX, Aurora Gaming, MOUZ, and Furia, Vitality managed to dominate the competition throughout. It only lost only one out of 12 maps in the tournament, and only allowed an opponent to hit double-digit round totals three times.

In fairness to G2 Esports, the squad played well enough in Krakow to give the team another shot after a disappointing Budapest Major run. But that performance doesn’t quite make the team good enough to get the nod here versus Vitality.

Even if Vitality wasn’t looking especially strong of late (which it has), this is just a bad matchup for G2 Esports. That should have bettors looking to capitalize on Vitality’s probable success rather than trying to look for upset picks.

G2’s best maps are Inferno and Dust 2 and, unfortunately for them, the same goes for Vitality. On the flipside, Vitality’s weaknesses may be Mirage and Nuke, but G2 has a losing record in both of those maps since the start of 2025. In this way, the maps make it so that G2 is specifically weak versus Vitality.
