Varesa is the next Nightsoul-aligned character coming to Genshin Impact, and farming her materials in advance will help players to be sure she’s ready to take on Spiral Abyss and other difficult content from her drop on day one.
Version 5.5 is shaping up to be Genshin Impact’s biggest update yet, bringing a new map expansion, new bosses, artifact sets, and more characters. The latest drip marketing campaign confirms that Varesa will be joining the roster alongside the four-star character Iansan. Varesa is a Stalwart Warrior and Orchard Owner from the Collective of the Plenty Tribe. When it comes to her kit, Varesa is a five-star Electro character whose main gimmick revolves around performing plunge attacks like Xiao and Gaming.
Varesa’s release is still a few weeks out, but thanks to leaks, players can already start pre-farming for her materials. However, some of her materials aren’t available in the current version of the game, meaning they’ll have to wait for the next patch to finish gathering everything she needs.
Varesa mains will need to collect Vajrada Amethyst gemstones, Juvenile Fang, Seasoned Fang, Tyrant’s Fang, Sparkless Statue Core, and Skysplit Gembloom materials in order to ascend her.Â
Here’s the full breakdown of all materials needed for each ascension level for Varesa:
Varesa’s ascension materials include Vajrada Amethyst gemstones, which should come as no surprise. Vajarda Amethyst is an ascension material used only by electro characters in the game. The only way for Travelers to get their hands on it is by defeating and claiming drops from normal and weekly bosses such as Azhdaha, Childe, Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom, Electro Hypostasis, and more.
Sparkless Statue Core is a boss material that players won’t be able to farm in advance. According to leaks, it will be dropped by the Lava Dragon Statues boss, which is also expected to be located in the game’s new region. Players should consider saving up Fragile Resin, especially if they plan to level Varesa up to 90 on the first day.
Players can get Juvenile, Season, and Tyrant’s Fang by taking down Natlan Saurians. Thankfully, these enemies are everywhere in Natlan and players won’t have to search too hard in order to farm them.
Maxing out Varesa’s talents requires an assortment of materials including Conflict talent books, Juvenile Fang, Seasoned Fang, Tyrant’s Fang, Eroded Scale-Feather, Crown of Insight, and mora.
To upgrade Varesa’s talents, players need to collect different tiers of Conflict talent books from the Blazing Ruins domain in Coatepec Mountain, Natlan. These character talent materials can be obtained by spending 20 Resin per run, completing the challenge, and claiming your rewards. Conflict talent books are only available on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
At level 7 and beyond, players will need Eroded Scale-Feather, a material dropped exclusively by the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire. This weekly boss domain unlocks after completing Chapter 5 of the Archon Quest.
