VALORANT Patch 13.01: Iso, Yoru, Outlaw, and boosting punishments explained
Riot Games released a much-needed update on July 14, rolling out Patch 13.01. The main highlights of the update were buffs to Iso and Yoru, nerfs to the Outlaw weapon, and player behavior updates targeting rank manipulation and boosting. Here’s everything you need to know about Valorant Patch 13.01.
Patch 13.01 buffs Iso and Yoru
Iso and Yoru have become relatively unpopular Duelists in the current meta, and we’re not seeing the
best Valorant players
picking them often anymore. As a result, Riot Games buffed these two agents with this patch.
Iso Changes
Riot only gave Iso one change, which was:
- Double Tap:
The speed of equipping your weapon after unequipping Double Tap is now instant.
This Double Tap change isn’t a massive buff, but it definitely helps. Iso players have found this annoying in the past, and it’ll be a much-appreciated change that might lead more players to picking him.
Yoru Changes
Yoru received two buffs in Patch 13.01, which included:
- Gatecrash:
Activate Beacon Duration increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.
- Fakeout:
Clones from Fakeout will now hold Yoru’s last equipped weapon instead of defaulting to his strongest weapon.
Again, there are no game-breaking changes here, but a five-second increase to his Gatecrash duration can definitely come in very handy.
For the Fakeout change, this means Yoru can create his clone with his knife out, letting it run faster.

Outlaw nerfs explained
Only one weapon was affected in Patch 13.01, and it was the Outlaw sniper. This weapon has looked pretty strong, and Riot has decided to tone things down a notch:
- Recovery from 0.1 to 0.15 after the first shot.
- Spread from 0 to 2.25 after the first shot.
- Recoil from 0 to 4.0 after the first shot.
This change makes it noticeably harder to fire both Outlaw bullets with no delay – players will now have to wait a split second before firing the second one.
Riot Cracks Down on Account Boosting
The player behavior update is the main focal point of the Valorant Patch 13.01. Riot has announced new rank manipulation penalties. The company will begin issuing punishments for any cases of confirmed rank manipulation, which primarily targets boosting, but may also apply to win-trading and stream sniping.
The penalties may include account suspensions, rank reversions, and ranked reward reversions. That’s right – this means Riot will now have the power to revert the
Valorant ranks
of players who are deemed guilty.
Players will also begin to receive reporter and bystander feedback in games where a player in their match gets penalized. So, make sure to report any cases of possible boosting so you end up on the safer boat!
