Tundra Esports has revealed it’s leaving Dota 2 after six years and a victory at The International 2022. The UK-based organization has announced its roster will transfer directly to 1win for future events.

The announcement, posted on Tundra’s socials on June 1, confirms rumors and earlier social posts from 1win which hinted at a new lineup. With the move, however, questions about 1win’s existing EEU roster and attendance at The International 2026 have been raised.

Tundra exit Dota 2 with roster picked up by 1win

Tundra Esports entered the scene in 2021, signing the then-Mudgolems roster which had seen success during the online tournament Covid-era of Dota 2. Rapidly becoming one of the most dominant teams in the scene, the organization lifted the Aegis of Champions in Singapore in 2022.

The team went from strength to strength and as detailed in the announcement post, claimed championships at FISSURE Universe: Episode 4, a three-peat of BLAST Slam victories, DreamLeague Season 28 and ESL One Birmingham 2026.

Now the current roster will move under the banner of bookmaker 1win for future events. The announcement by Tundra directed fans of the players to follow @1win for more info.

Rumors of this switch first appeared in late May, but were effectively confirmed this past weekend as the 1win socials started posting images of some suspiciously familiar-looking players with their faces covered by shiestys.

A few days later, and it’s all but confirmed who these players are, with the former Tundra members own socials, such as Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov, reposting the pictures from the 1win account.

However, the shift does raise some questions for upcoming tournaments including TI15. Tundra Esports was one of the teams directly invited to The International. A crackdown on naming conventions means that gambling companies cannot have their names used during TI, with companies like BetBoom and PARIVISION switching their names to Boom Boys and Team Vision respectively.

1win, whose existing previous EEU lineup, are part of the European Qualifiers as “enjoy” would also likely have to change their name to avoid breaching the rules on sponsorships.
