TimTheTatman joins Kick

Timothy “TimTheTatman” John Betar has officially joined streaming platform Kick, and with the livestreaming platform officially welcoming the streamer, his fans are left wondering what comes next.

TimTheTatman is a massively popular American content creator who began his streaming career in 2012 on Twitch. He instantly clicked with an audience thanks to his easygoing nature and comedic timing. Tim streamed primarily gameplay of Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, and World of Warcraft, and slowly built a loyal fan following along the way. He currently boasts over 7 million followers on Twitch and more than 5 million subscribers on YouTube.

TimeTheTatMan is now looking to further expand his streams, and he has officially joined the livestreaming platform Kick towards that end.

TimTheTatman begins streaming on Kick, fans wonder about exclusivity

TimTheTatman hasn’t officially stated whether he might exclusively stream on any platform, but he has continued streaming on Twitch and posting content to YouTube even after joining Kick. For the time being, the move seems to be more about multistreaming than any potential change in exclusivity.

Tim didn’t make a big deal about joining Kick when first commented publicly about going live there, though he did mention on his social media that it would be his first broadcast on Kick. TimTheTatman linked all his channels, including Kick, Twitch, and YouTube, which essentially squashed any speculation of the streamer having signed an exclusive deal with the Stake-backed streaming platform. It’s more likely he will continue to multistream his content well into the future, and that Kick will simply be another platform where he streams and posts regularly.

It’s the latest example of a major name in streaming making the move to Kick, and it has fans buzzing about what it could mean.

The streamer had once signed an exclusive three-year contract with YouTube, but that ended in 2024. He returned to Twitch as soon as the contract ended and stated that he would mutlistream his content going forward, as that was “the future.” TimeTheTatMan has been streaming simultaneously on Twitch and YouTube ever since then, and that isn’t likely to change now. While he hasn’t explicitly confirmed his intentions after joining Kick, there doesn’t appear to be any reason for him to deviate from a successful formula. Kick also doesn’t seem to be as aggressive as it once was in handing out exclusivity contracts to popular streamers.

TimTheTatman isn’t the first Twitch streamer who has decided to mutlistream content on Kick. Popular streamer Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has also started to multistream on the platform, and he quickly became a proponent of the practice. The increased exposure from Kick helped Asmongold to become the most-watched content creator in the space, something Tim and others certainly would have taken notice of.

The reasons are also quite potentially lucrative, and it isn’t a surprise that Kick has been attracting more popular content creators. The platform’s 95/5 split of the revenue is already a big reason for streamers to switch, and multistreaming makes it so the content creators can stream on more than one platform and enjoy the benefits of each. Asmongold has also spoken the revenue opportunities this provides, and that may have as much to do with Tim’s decision as anything else.
