Stardew Valley 1.6 players have a plethora of character creator mods to choose from, thanks to the game’s ever-active community.
With the release of 1.6, Stardew Valley players have returned in droves to the cozy farm sim game. The game has grown significantly since its humble 2016 debut. All-new areas, festivals, and even NPCs have made their way to Pelican Town. Its popularity can also be attributed to the regular updates of creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone.
Like all of Stardew Valley’s updates, modding was still kept in mind. While most mods may focus on expansions or optimizing the farm, there’s one genre that’s also quite popular. Character creators and customization is something people want to make their playthroughs unique. Fortunately, modders have added many ways for players to customize their characters.
The best character creator mods in Stardew Valley add new fashions, colors, and customizable portraits for characters. These mods are a must-have for any player who loves to customize how they look while in Stardew Valley. Each tackles different “character creator” aspects for Stardew Valley 1.6

The Customize Anywhere mod allows players to customize their character at any time from anywhere in-game.  The Customize Anywhere mod adds a Customization Mirror and Clothing Catalogue to Robin’s shop for a hefty 50,000 gold each. The Customization Mirror requires 10x Wood and 2x Quartz to craft, while the Clothing Catalogue only needs 10x Wood.
Players can then plop down these items in the world when they feel like having a makeover. The Clothing Catalogue conveniently provides access to all clothing available in-game, mods included. Players who love changing their look every day should pick this mod up.

The Farmer Portraits mod allows players to add a portrait of their player character to the left side of dialogue boxes. Â Although practically every character in Stardew Valley gets their own portrait set, the player is left in the dust. This is fixed by the Farmer Portraits mod, which allows players to customize their dialogue portrait.
The mod will default to the player’s animated in-game sprite as a portrait. The modder also provides instructions on how to add high-resolution custom portraits to the game on the mod page. Whether made with online Picrew creators or custom-drawn, the player has total freedom in what to add.

The Fashion Sense mod is a framework that allows for extensive fashion choices for every character.  Whether it’s hats, hair, or a pair of pantaloons, the Fashion Sense mod is a must for any player looking to farm in style. The mod itself requires at least one other Fashion Sense content pack to properly function.
Popular mods that utilize Fashion Sense include Poltergeister’s Seasonal Outfits and Shardust’s Animated Hairstyles. The mod also allows players to save and load custom outfits. That means players can mix and match clothes from different mods to create daily outfits.
