Controversial streamer John “Tectone” Robertson announced a break from streaming after seemingly getting himself banned from Twitch, and he’s now talking about extending his hiatus further.

Tectone had in some ways a rough 2024, and it appears 2025 isn’t getting much better for him, with multiple controversies already surrounding the content creator. He has already been involved in everything from allegations of abuse to public feuds with other prominent streamers. His beefs with fellow streamer denims and his remarks about OnlyFans models have led to him getting in significant trouble.

Twitch has taken disciplinary action against Tectone multiple times, resulting in the streamer being banned from the platform for various reasons. His fifth and latest ban led to him announcing a break from streaming. The ban appeared intentional to some given the explicit language the streamer used and his outward acknowledgement of it as he began a rant, and many speculated that Tectone was already wanting to take a break going into the act. The streamer has now announced he’s extending his time away from content creation while giving some context as to why.

Why is Tectone extending his break?

Tectone claims that “evil people” are making his “life miserable,” and that’s why he’s extending his break from streaming.

Tectone talked about not returning to streaming “for a while” during a recent video, and the streamer hinted that he may be gone for longer than most fans expected. Tectone isn’t stopping streaming because of his stressful content schedule, as the claimed reason is a bit more worrisome than that. While he didn’t provide names or specify the exact circumstances surrounding his decision to extend his break, but he did make some bold claims about people seemingly being out to get him.

Tectone claims his reason for extending the break was deeply personal, and that “dangerous things” are currently happening in his life. No evidence was provided to support Tectone’s claim, and he refused to discuss the matter further.

The former OTK streamer informed fans that he may still spontaneously upload videos to YouTube even while on break. He also expressed his love for content creation and for his fans and followers. While he didn’t give a timeframe for when he would return from his break, Tectone did state he looked forward to returning at some point. This has given fans hope that the streamer would eventually be back.

Tectone recently began to multistream content on Kick, moving away from his primary platform, which has long been Twitch despite his repeated bans there. The streamer was making more money through multistreaming and all seemed well, so his break comes as a surprise to many fans. Some are still confused about what’s going on in Tectone’s life, and the streamer did state that he may discuss everything in greater detail at a later date.
