The BLAST Open Spring group stage is starting to wind down and two of the teams left in the playoff hunt are Team Spirit and Virtus.pro.
While the upper bracket finalists both get a spot in the playoffs, the lower bracket finalists arenāt so lucky. They have to win their way through the finals in order to earn their spot. Thatās the case with Virtus.pro and Team Spirit.
Both squads have fought their way through BLAST Open Springās lower bracket, but only one of them will be able to get out of the group stage.
LOSER IS OUT! FaZe vs Spirit – Official Highlights – BLAST Premier Open Lisbon 2025
Team Spirit and Virtus.pro are facing off in a best-of-three match in the BLAST Open Spring 2025 group stage on March 24, 2025. The two teams are facing off for a spot in the eventās playoffs. The winner will head to the eventās quarterfinals, while the loser is eliminated.
Team Spirit opened BLAST Open Spring with a layup of a match, but took another upset loss to MOUZ. The squad got its footing back by taking a key victory over FaZe Clan, but will have to defeat regional rival Virtus.pro in order to advance further.
donk remains the star of Team Spiritās roster:
Team Spirit has a winning record across all seven of CS2ās active duty maps. The only maps where it has a winrate below 60% are Anubis, Ancient, and Nuke.
Virtus.pro has taken a long road to the BLAST Open Spring group B lower bracket finals. It started the event with a 2-1 victory that saw two of the maps go to overtime. It took a relatively quick loss to Team Vitality to drop to the lower bracket, but stayed alive with a brutally long match against Team Falcons. This included a 24-round opener, a double-overtime map two, and a triple-overtime map three.
Virtus.proās roster at BLAST Open Spring stands as follows:
Virtus.pro has been struggling on Mirage and Anubis in 2025, going 1-4 on the maps. Its go-to has been Dust 2, where itās 6-2. The team refuses to play on Nuke.
CRAZY GAME! Falcons vs Virtus.pro – Official Highlights – BLAST Premier Open Lisbon 2025
Team Spirit and the current iteration of Virtus.pro have played against each other just once, with Team Spirit winning 2-0 at IEM Katowice 2025. The last time they played prior to this was June 2024 at the BLAST Spring Final. Spirit won that match 2-0 as well.
Team Spirit is a huge 1.14 favorite against Virtus.pro for their BLAST Open Spring group stage matchup. The moneyline on Virtus.pro is a massive 5.45. This shows that bookies still have a great deal of confidence in Team Spirit.
Team Spirit should be able to take the win over Virtus.pro. Virtus.pro has proven itself to be extremely scrappy, but scrappiness isnāt enough. Team Spirit is still exclusively losing to top-five teams, and VP doesnāt make that cut.
