Team Spirit and Team Falcons are jockeying for position in BLAST Rivals Spring, and it’s an intriguing match from a betting perspective.
Team Falcons has finally started looking like a strong Counter-Strike team over the last month. Meanwhile. Spirit has seen its standing decline as other teams have risen up. This makes for an interesting story even if it wasn’t a completely novel match in a somewhat formulaic CS esports grind.
So what are the lines like for these two teams and what’s on the line?
FaZe vs Falcons – Official Highlights – BLAST Premier Rivals 2025 S1
Team Spirit and Team Falcons will play a best-of-three match as part of the BLAST Rivals Spring group stage on May 1, 2025. The match is to determine seeding for the playoffs, with the winner earning a first-round bye for the playoffs.
Team Spirit is still broadly regarded as a top Counter-Strike team but its exact spot in the rankings is vaguer than it has been in some time. The rise of Team Vitality, consistency of MOUZ, and the improvement seen within Falcons has made it murky where the Russian team fits into things. It started BLAST Rivals Spring strong by smashing FlyQuest, but faces a stiffer challenge here.
The Team Spirit roster remains unchanged from recent months:
Spirit bans Inferno and hasn’t given opponents much opportunity for success elsewhere. The team has a solidly winning record on all the maps it plays in 2025, highlighted by going 13-1 so far on Dust 2. The one map it doesn’t play on is Inferno.
Team Falcons scored a key victory in its second-place run in IEM Melbourne. The pay-to-lose organization finally looked the part of a top Counter-Strike team, and came closer than any other team has to beating Team Vitality in the finals of IEM Melbourne. It kicked off its BLAST Rivals Spring run with a win over FaZe Clan.
That’s seemingly thanks to the addition of Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to the Falcons roster:
Falcons has a losing record on Inferno and Train, but has been winning elsewhere. Its win rates aren’t especially impressive, but those numbers come at the expense of high-level competition. m0NESY certainly looks to have improved Falcons, though.
FIRST MATCH! Spirit vs FlyQuest – Official Highlights – BLAST Premier Rivals 2025 S1
Team Spirit and Team Falcons have not played in 2025. The last time they faced off was at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2, but Falcons has almost a completely different roster now. The only player left from that era of Falcons is Magisk.
Team Spirit is getting the favorite treatment from betting sites in this match against Team Falcons. The lines currently stand at 1.56 against 2.4, which is notable as the bookies have generally been quick to buy into Falcons. Clearly they’re still believers in Team Spirit.
Team Spirit should be able to beat Team Falcons. This one is tough to call though, because Spirit is still coming off a bit of a layoff while Falcons has been active but the jury is still out on how good the team is. It’s hard to feel overly confident in either team’s chances, but they both look strong.
