Team Liquid after beating KC at 2026 MSI

The last match of the 2026 MSI play-in stage is a rematch between T1 and Team Liquid, but will things go any differently this time?

The 2026 MSI play-in stage started with T1 facing off against Team Liquid, and that’s how it’ll end. While the NA team surprised many by comfortably winning against Karmine Corp, Liquid now has to face off against a completely different beast if it wants to qualify for this event’s bracket stage.

Team Liquid vs T1 match overview

Betting tip: Team Liquid’s recent performance may have been strong, but T1 is looking better than expected, suggesting that fans may see another clean sweep.

Our Team Liquid vs T1 pick: Total maps to be under 3.5 at 1.68 odds.

Team Liquid vs T1 match analysis

Much of what happened in the match between Karmine Corp and Team Liquid was because of KC’s overconfidence. Liquid has a reputation for being weak, which led to the NA team absolutely stomping the LEC team. Josedeodo also played extremely well, proving that he more than deserves his spot on the big stage, especially with CoreJJ constantly being a pillar of support for the team.

However, Liquid’s run is likely to stop here. T1’s recent performance against admittedly weaker teams has been fairly strong. While the team has made mistakes that it’ll repeat in the upcoming match, Team Liquid may not be able to capitalize on them. Not to mention, Keria’s support is still leagues above CoreJJ’s, while the entirety of T1 is more reliable when it comes to securing objectives.

Pair all of this with Peyz just being a much better ADC than Liquid’s Yeon, and Quid will have to overperform if Liquid wants a chance to win. This is unlikely to happen, since the last match between the two teams saw Faker unexpectedly meet his match. The Hall of Legends player will likely go for a stronger pick this time, suggesting that T1 is the team to side with here.

Regardless of all of this, Team Liquid’s early game is surprisingly impressive. The team’s early-game skills could give it first blood in this match. But the team is unlikely to be able to capitalize on any advantage, which is why it may be a good idea to take the under on 3.5 maps.

Team Liquid vs T1 betting picks & predictions

Every match in this stage of the tournament has ended with a score of 3-0, and there’s a strong chance that the same will happen again. Team Liquid’s performance against Karmine Corp may have been impressive, but that doesn’t amount to much when you consider that KC also got swept by T1.
