Team Liquid's 2026 MSI team

The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2026 will kick off with T1 facing off against Team Liquid, but will the match really be as one-sided as the betting odds make it out to be?

While some didn’t think that the reigning world champions, T1 would make it to this year’s MSI, the team proved many wrong once again. It barely made it to the play-in stage, where Team Liquid will face off against the LCK powerhouse. While few believe Team Liquid has any chance of success, will it really be as much of a massacre as most think?

T1 vs Team Liquid match overview

Betting tip: Despite the clear difference in skill, there’s a real chance that Team Liquid may win at least one game in the match.

Our T1 vs Team Liquid pick: Total maps to be over 3.5 at 2.56 odds.

T1 vs Team Liquid match analysis

T1 is one of the few League of Legends teams that don’t need any introduction. In particular, Faker has been performing exceptionally well recently, suggesting that it may be a comfortable slam-dunk for T1 in the middle lane. Keria is also one of the most reliable support players in the game currently, so the bottom lane should largely be handled.

Team Liquid does have some powerhouse players of its own. The team’s biggest problem is that it relies too much on its support player, CoreJJ. While this works domestically, Team Liquid will likely face problems against an international juggernaut such as T1. Still, the team’s overall objective acquisition is decent. Josedeodo received a lot of criticism in the recent split, but his overall gameplay wasn’t too bad. Quid is a strong mid-laner who can be flexible with his picks, letting his team experiment more.

While Team Liquid is a strong domestic team, it likely doesn’t have much of a chance against T1. The team’s top laner, in particular, doesn’t really have the carry potential to lead his team to victory. This is unfortunate because T1’s Doran is the most unreliable player on the team. Liquid will likely get decent early advantages in games, but won’t be able to capitalize on them. This does suggest that siding with Liquid to get the first blood is potentially a good idea.

T1 will likely emerge victorious in this match, but that doesn’t mean Liquid won’t go down fighting. The team has a strong chance of getting at least one game in this match, making it a good idea to take the over on 3.5 maps being played. Looking at the potential return, this could be the pick to make.

T1 vs Team Liquid betting picks & predictions

Team Liquid’s domestic performance won’t amount to much on the big stage, at least against one of the top LCK teams. The team winning even one game would be a victory in itself, but that says more about the entirety of the LCS league than just Team Liquid.
