T1 vs G2 Esports Match Analysis
T1 and G2 arrived at Santiago as two of the tournament’s top teams, and it’s very unfortunate that one of them will have to bow out so early.
The North American titans got off to a rough start, losing 0-2 to Paper Rex. There’s really no shame in losing to such a strong opponent, but the main issue was multiple players on G2 were not performing at their usual level.

It doesn’t help that G2 are historically known for underperforming at international events, as they’ve failed to replicate their dominant, regional form on the global stage, and some signs of that are showing here in Santiago.
On the other hand, T1 weren’t able to dodge an early hiccup either. Despite coming in as the favorite, the South Korean squad fell to Team Liquid in a surprising loss. The elephant in the room was the team’s best player, Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh, posting a very uncharacteristic 0.48 rating.
Still, despite being set back early, both teams were able to recover in their following matches, where they secured easy wins against Chinese teams.
Since both squads look comfortable on a handful of different maps, there aren’t any major holes in any team’s map pool. Ultimately, we think this series comes down to which players show up and perform well on the day.

T1 vs G2 Esports Betting Picks and Predictions
As discussed above, this series will come down to which individuals play their A-game in this high-pressure matchup.
The main player to watch will be T1’s veteran, Meteor. The two-time VCT champion finished both of his matches at Santiago as the team’s lowest-rated player. The team will need him to step up if they want any chance at beating G2.

Another matchup to look out for is the Waylay duel between babybay and BuZz, as the team that wins more opening duels will likely convert maps with ease. If we were to give an upper hand between the two, we’d lean toward BuZz, who brings more firepower than his counterpart.
We’re predicting a scrappy and competitive series, so we believe over 2.5 maps are on the cards. It’s very tough for us to choose a winner, but we’d lean toward T1. This team has title-winning players who have proven they can perform well when their backs are against the wall.
