Controversial streamers Nina “NinaDaddyisBack” Lin and Zoe Spencer went viral for a controversial resurfaced video, and now Twitch has banned the pair following much drama and conversation across social media.

Nina Lin is a popular American content creator who gained fame by creating TikTok lip-sync videos and comedy reels. She later migrated to traditional streaming on Twitch, where she created a variety of content most prominently including IRL and Just Chatting streams. Zoe Spencer, on the other hand, started by posting popular dancing reels on TikTok. She also transitioned to Twitch, and was notably featured in Kai Cenat’s Streamer University.

Both streamers are receiving massive backlash for their actions on a prior stream, and Twitch has seemingly banned the channels of both Zoe Spencer and Nina Lin following the continued outcry.

Why were Nina Lin and Zoe Spencer banned from Twitch?

While Twitch is unlikely to officially announce the reasons for Nina Lin and Zoe Spencer’s bans, the bans directly follows the spread of a viral video showing the pair harassing someone live on stream.

It’s no surprise that Twitch hasn’t clarified why the two streamers were banned, as the platform is known to not give much in the way of details about the actions it takes against banned and suspended content creators, and its ban policies are themselves often the subject of debate. Nina Lin and Zoe Spencer haven’t released official statements regarding the bans at the time of this writing, but visiting either’s channel results in a messages showing that it’s now unavailable.

Spectators online were quick to react to the news of the ban, which seems likely to have been the result of harassment faced by Jerry “FaZe Silky” Woo’s assistant Said. A video went viral in October that showed Nina and Zoe grabbing Said and twerking on him. Said ran out of the room in response, and the two streamers were later seen leading him to a bed.

Said took to social media afterwards to share that he hadn’t consented to the treatment, and the story has been an unwelcome distraction for FaZe given the popularity of its latest subathon event.

Twitch was under increasing pressure to ban the two streamers as a result, but the platform said nothing about it and initially declined to take action. Even with Nina Lin and Zoe Spencer now being banned, many remain unhappy with how long Twitch took to take any action. The video was apparently from a stream that was broadcast in March.

Nina Lin stirs more drama with continued comments

Streamer Nina Lin faced further backlash after claiming she didn’t do anything wrong, calling what happened to Said “embarrassing” for the FaZe Clan assistant.

After the video went viral, Nina Lin doubled down on her position. This has led to her receiving significant backlash from the streaming community. Most have condemned her actions and claimed she needs to be banned from Twitch and potential face further repercussions beyond the streaming world.

Nina Lin eventually apologized for her actions. She claimed to want to own up, but still maintained that her actions had been “a joke.” This apology didn’t sit well with most viewers, even after Lin admitted that “it was wrong.”
