Team Vitality roster

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 event is finally entering its much-anticipated playoffs, and only the strongest teams remain. Our breakdown covers the best odds and picks for every stage leading up to the December 14 grand finals.

Stages 1 through 3 of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 were full of surprises. Outright odds for many collapsed after G2 Esports and Aurora bowed out early. Both were ranked among the top seven outright favorites alongside Vitality, Team Spirit, FURIA, and others. In their place, FaZe and NAVI have slipped into the top eight, making the upcoming match-ups noticeably harder for bettors to predict accurately.

Teams in the playoffs are all drawn from the top eight of the Valve rankings, except for FaZe, which has muscled its way in as the 12th-best team. We’ve pulled together the best odds for fans backing the favorites, as well as options for anyone who prefers value plays over the usual safe picks.

StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 playoffs betting favorites

The playoffs bracket for StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 is loaded with proven contenders, but a few teams stand out as the best picks. FURIA has been on a tear since Fissure PlayGround 2, reinforcing that form with a dominant run at IEM Chengdu 2025. If anyone still doubted them, stage 3 of StarLadder shut that door. The Brazilian roster tore through the field for a 3-0 finish, stacking effortless 2-0 score lines without showing a hint of strain.

What should worry FURIA’s opponents is that all five players are now posting ratings above 1.0, including Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, who struggled noticeably during BLAST Rivals Fall 2025. Back then, FURIA leaned almost entirely on Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato, Yuri “yuurih” Boian, and Danil “molodoy” Golubenko to keep them afloat.

In stage 3 of the Major, though, the entire lineup showed up ready, making a quick work of NAVI, Imperial, and then G2. At this point, FURIA isn’t just a strong contender, it’s one of the safest picks on the board.

Team Spirit is another reliable pick for bettors, rolling into the playoffs with a clean 3-0 in stage 3. The Russian core barely seems to break a sweat against top-tier opposition; FaZe, Team Liquid, and MOUZ all went down without much resistance, cementing Spirit’s place alongside FURIA as a tournament favorite.

Spirit’s runs at IEM Chengdu and BLAST Rivals Fall didn’t turn many heads, but stage 3 showed a very different gear. With Danil “donk” Kryshkovets looking untouchable and dropping monstrous ratings throughout the bracket, Spirit’s ceiling looks to be as high as it’s ever been.

If there’s one team sitting closest to Spirit in terms of odds, it’s Vitality. The team didn’t produce a spotless run, but it found its stride quickly after dropping a series to FaZe. Recent stumbles shouldn’t overshadow its broader form across 2025, a year in which Vitality has often looked outright dominant. With an eight-event win streak earlier in the season, StarLadder might finally be the stage where this lineup snaps back into that level again.

StarLadder Budapest Major playoffs betting underdogs

When it comes to upsets, the StarLadder Budapest Major playoffs seem ripe for them, and Team Vitality vs MongolZ feels like the most fragile match-up on the board. MongolZ may have come through the 3-1 bracket, but its path was anything but easy. Taking down FaZe, Liquid, and G2 Esports carries weight, and that kind of résumé should steady its nerves heading into playoffs.

In terms of playing form, MongolZ is tracking surprisingly close to FURIA, with nearly the entire roster posting strong ratings. That depth gives it upset potential, since it doesn’t collapse the moment one player dips in form.

The only reason Falcons is down here as underdogs, rather than among the favorites, is that the playoffs bracket is stacked against them. The Saudi-backed roster’s first match-up against Spirit is a tricky one, but it has an equal shot at making it a long series. It may be coming from a 2-2 bracket, but the Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski-led roster could easily give Spirit a tough time.

Finally, MOUZ is another solid value pick for those looking to bet on the CS2 major and willing to gamble on potential rather than pedigree. The European roster has had an up-and-down 2025, but its StarLadder run has looked sharper than what it’s shown for most of the year. Dorian “XertioN” Berman has dragged the team through most of its wins in stage 3, with steady support from Jimi “jimphatt” Salo, who still put up numbers even in a loss to FURIA. If this version of MOUZ shows up in the playoffs, it has enough firepower to trouble the favorites.

StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 playoffs schedule

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 playoffs begin on December 11, and the opening four match-ups will be played across two days. The semifinals will be held on December 13, and fans will be able to watch the grand finals on December 14 when a new CS2 Major champion is crowned.

StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 – Quarterfinals

MOUZ vs FaZe and MongolZ vs Vitality are easily the trickiest of the bunch. With FaZe showing cracks early in the event, MOUZ has a real chance to tilt the balance in its favor. The same uncertainty applies to MongolZ vs Vitality.

Vitality dropped maps to weaker opposition in stage 3, while MongolZ looked increasingly confident with the addition of Unudelger “controlez” Baasanjargal. For those willing to take on some risk betting on StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 , this match-up offers one of the best high-reward opportunities in the entire bracket.

The other two games should play out much closer to expectation, with FURIA coming out on top, and Spirit running into some pushback from Falcons.
