Stake's Eddie Craven announces expansion of Provably Fair technology

Stake co-founder Eddie Craven has made a post on X announcing that the crypto casino’s Provably Fair technology has expanded, covering more games and offering more transparency to players.
iGaming operators have historically relied on RNG certifications as a means to assure players that what they see on their screen is legit, but Stake’s Provably Fair technology aims to take that even further. The system isn’t new, but it’s being implemented more broadly, allowing players the ability to personally verify a game’s authenticity. Eddie Craven claims this is a landmark moment for iGaming, and many players agree with the sentiment. Indeed, this technology is fast becoming the gold standard at altcoin casinos.
Provably Fair technology now covers over 1,200 Stake games
It’s a common occurrence in gambling for players to allege that games are rigged if they don’t win. Stake implemented the Provably Fair technology, which allows players to verify casino games and increases transparency. However, the model also depends on publishers implementing it into their games before players can verify authenticity.

Eddie Craven has now revealed that more than 1,200 Stake games have implemented the technology. This means players don’t have to blindly trust a casino game or speculate about their outcomes. Eddie states that the model allows public verification of the result and transparency about the probability of each outcome.
Eddie Craven is touting this model as a game-changer for the iGaming industry and says it should be adopted by other platforms. He also invited developers to create independent verification tools, stating that the API documentation is public. Stake and Kick co-founder Bijan Tehrani replied to the announcement, joking that players can still call games rigged if they want, but the results can be independently verified.
Provably Fair technology explained
The system is straightforward, and Eddie Craven explained it in the announcement, but here’s a more technical explanation of how it works.
Server seed generation
A server seed is generated before a game session starts. This seed is hashed and shared with the player, making it impossible for the system to change the outcomes after the bets without being detected.
Client seed generation
Each player is issued a client seed, which can be generated automatically or set manually. This seed is visible to the player and the system, ensuring that the outcome is determined in a verifiable and unpredictable way.
The result is generated
The result is generated using the server and client seed. A cryptographic function produces a determined and unpredictable outcome.
The game is played
The game is played using the generated result, which is applied to the round. The outcome is recorded for verification.
Unhashed server seed is revealed
The unhashed server seed is shared once the round ends, and it can be used to verify the result.
The player can verify the result
Players can verify the result after the round ends using the unhashed server seed and the client seed and the result cannot be impacted by a third party.
As our Stake review covers, there are thousands of casino games at the site and results can now be verified after each round in just a few clicks.
