As the video played, it became obvious that a football pitch had been set up and players were playing on it high above the ground. The video was released during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, so it isn’t hard to guess Stake’s inspiration behind the marketing stunt. The advertisement had no audio or words other than the Stake logo plastered everywhere, including on the hot air balloon, the pitch, and the players’ jerseys.
Stake has several reasons to market in this way, but the most notable is the fact that everyone is talking about the World Cup right now. So, showing an eye-catching stunt involving football is designed to generate views. This is an efficient way to get more players to check out Stake’s World Cup betting promos, and potentially play.
Other companies have used similar marketing stunts, most notably Red Bull. The energy drink giant typically showcases daredevil stunts, such as football matches in extreme locations and high-altitude BMX riding, in its advertisements.
