StableRonaldo GTA 5 marathon

Rani “StableRonaldo” Netz is joining the GTA 6 hype by announcing that he will be hosting a GTA 5 marathon, and we now have further details about what his challenge will entail.

StableRonaldo isn’t new to gaming or marathons, as the creator initially started off by playing Call of Duty. He eventually moved onto Fortnite, even going on to become a professional player in the Epic battle royale. The streamer has since done several gaming marathons, including an Elden Ring one, and also has another planned with Nicholas “Jynxzi” Stewart.

Ron also reacted to a Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. stream in April 2026, revealing his plans to do a GTA 5 marathon one week before GTA 6 releases. However, it appears the streamer has moved up his GTA 5 marathon, as StableRonaldo revealed an earlier start date in a recent stream.

StableRonaldo will livestream GTA 5 marathon on 21 August, 2026

The CORE streamer, who has over 5 million Twitch followers, has been talking about a GTA 5 marathon for several months now, as he has never played the game’s single player. His initial announcement placed a potential marathon around the time GTA 6 would launch, which makes sense given how popular the game is, and fans are keeping an eye on anything related to it. However, Ron surprised fans when he stated adding “GTA 5 marathon” and “GTA 5 soon” in his recent stream titles. The creator then revealed in a stream that he would be doing the marathon on Friday, 21 August.

StableRonaldo didn’t reveal what his marathon would consist of, but viewers are speculating that it will likely be a start-to-finish livestream of GTA 5’s campaign. This marathon could last as long as it takes Ron to finish the campaign, with some wondering if the streamer will allocate the entire weekend to the game, with the story mode taking at least 30 hours. Ron has previously also discussed a GTA 5 marathon with Chaos Mode, but it’s unclear if that will be done in this upcoming stream.

StableRonaldo has a history with marathons, having completed an endurance Elden Ring stream, where he was in a white room and couldn’t leave without finishing the game. He and Jynxzi were also inspired by Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed’s latest Minecraft marathon, and announced their own Minecraft Hardcore marathon, which is expected to start on 1 September. Ron will also be doing a Chained Together marathon on 28 August with Jynxzi and Louis “LosPollos” Sammartino. The good thing about Ron’s marathons is that he doesn’t limit them to a single game, and the streamer livestreams whichever game he feels like. However, this upcoming GTA 5 marathon’s timing is interesting, and the response of his followers has been largely positive.

Editor’s analysis: StableRonaldo appears to want to capitalize on GTA 6 hype

GTA 6 will release on 19 November, and an extended Netflix look will be released on 27 August. The Netflix release will go live just six days after StableRonaldo’s GTA 5 stream, and this could be the reason why the streamer changed the date of his planned marathon. The upcoming Netflix stream is highly anticipated, as fans think it may give a more intimate look into the game’s gameplay or other elements. A leaker has also leaked alleged GTA 6 information and media, which has created further hype about the game.

GTA 5 is also currently the latest released title in the iconic Rockstar Games series, which explains why Ron would want to stream it, particularly because he has never played the game’s campaign. This marathon ticks the box for him, and also allows his viewers to see him play the game for the first time.

The streamer could also yet create more GTA 5 content, as the game is still highly popular, especially its online mode, and this has the potential to be one of  his biggest marathons to date.
