GTA 6’s long-awaited release is a step closer, with Rockstar Games confirming that pre-orders will begin on June 25. The studio also revealed the official cover art, giving fans belief that the game is now set for release as scheduled on November 19, 2026.

Announcing the news on social media platforms, including X and YouTube, the studio said: “Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers.”

Pre-orders confirmed

There has been a lot of speculation around GTA 6 pre-orders with players and analysts both sceptical about Rockstar’s ability to deliver on the promised release date until pre-orders go live. That is now confirmed as the case next week and the question then moves onto how much the game will cost.

Following multiple delays and a 13-year wait for the latest instalment of one of video games’ most iconic series, it now looks full speed ahead for GTA VI’s marketing over the summer months. The hype among fans is probably at its highest point in 2026, and some expect it to be Game of the Year when it does get released.

Jason and Lucia GTA 6

Along with the pre-order news, Rockstar also released cover art for the game. As expected, main characters Jason and Lucia take centre stage, while the pink hues of Vice City — fictional Miami — are instantly recognisable with the palm trees. Boobie Ike also looks like being a major part of the storyline as the character appears in the artwork too.

Rockstar dropped a big batch of new in-game screenshots on their site, with more views of the state of Leonida being shown, as well as supporting characters including Brian Heder.

Countdown to release

This is the biggest GTA 6 news in months as Rockstar moves towards the November 19 release date. There is now growing speculation and online frenzy that the third trailer could be imminent. This would be expected to offer more hints about what the storyline will entail — until now, this has been kept largely under wraps, though we do know that Jason and Lucia get involved in a conspiracy after their score goes wrong.

GTA 6 market on Kalshi

Prediction markets like the Kalshi app have responded to today’s news with enhanced interest from traders. Currently, there is a 62% chance at the time of writing that the third trailer drops before July, and a 90% chance before August.

Meanwhile, Kalshi traders also feel that the GTA 6 game will be released on time, with 86% implied probability that the video game will be released by December 2026.

Taken together with Rockstar’s artwork and imminent pre-orders, GTA 6 is now in its final stretch of development and we are now just a matter of months away from having our first feel for what many expect to be a generation-defining release.
