Riot Games announces Kick partnership for LoL, Valorant, and TFT esports broadcasts
Riot Games announces Kick partnership for LoL, Valorant, and TFT esports broadcasts
League of Legends and Valorant developer and publisher Riot Games has announced a massive partnership with live streaming platform Kick. This partnership will bring official broadcasts and co-streaming support to more viewers.
Kick isn’t new to the esports scene, and the platform has been pushing for official recognition for some time. The live streaming platform has hosted and supported many esports community broadcasts, notably for Counter-Strike and Valorant.
Kick has also been used by esports commentators, streamers, and watch-party hosts, but the platform wasn’t an official Riot esports broadcast option. That is now set to change, as Riot Games has decided to officially partner with Kick after seeing the live streaming platform’s
growing global visibility.
Riot Games partners with Kick for esports broadcasts
Kick is now an official Riot Games streaming partner, and official broadcasts of League of Legends, Valorant, and Teamfight Tactics will be streamed on the platform. The Stake-backed platform is joining the likes of Twitch and YouTube, where official Riot Games broadcasts are streamed.
This indicates that Riot Games is expanding its distribution rather than replacing existing platforms. Support will also be provided for watch parties and co-streaming on Kick. This agreement covers both global and regional esports competitions, excluding China and Korea.
Kick broadcasts will start with MSI 2026, and Riot expects the viewing experience and other elements, such as drops and incentives, to remain the same. Riot Games stated that Kick has emerged as a top player for esports audiences in regions including Europe,
Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa.
The developer elaborated that a partnership with Kick gives fans another place to watch live events while supporting the platform’s creators by enabling them to build a community around Riot’s esports ecosystem. This is a huge plus for Kick creators, as they will be able to join
Riot creator
programs.
Riot Games has expressed concerns about Kick’s more lax moderation, stating that participating creators will be held to the same standards and policies as creators on other platforms.
