Fliff has long been one of the best social sportsbooks, but now the company behind the brand has ventured into a new area – P2P daily fantasy sports, with the launch of its brand new Fliff Superstars app.
We’ve had the pleasure of testing this new app to create a detailed Fliff Superstars review, and our first impressions were great as we found a robust pick style set of competitions for markets like the NBA and NHL. If you read on, we explain how the app works, its features, and look at its legitimacy.
Understanding how Fliff Superstars works
Let’s start by looking at the gamification and what you can actually do on this app, as it’s quite different from Fliff Social Sportsbook. We want to be clear – this is not a social sportsbook and you do not use virtual currencies. Instead, you are using USD to make your picks and enter the competitions. Below, we look in more depth at this system and the entertainment you can get from it.
Fliff Superstars is a P2P DFS app
Forget about virtual currencies – with Fliff Superstars you are using cold hard cash. You can deposit money into your account and then use those funds to enter the DFS competitions. With these competitions, you are competing against other players in a peer-2-peer-style system, as opposed to competing against the operator.
It offers over/under-style pick contests
While creating this Fliff Superstars review, we found that the basic premise for each DFS competition was as follows:
- Pick two or more athletes from 2 teams.
- Pick an over/under stat for each athlete.
- Pay an entry fee.
- Choose your game mode.
- Wait for the game results.
- Get a payout if your picks hit.
So, for example you might pick Shai Gilgeous Alexander of the Thunder to score over 30 points, and Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers to score over 27 points. You would then pay an entry fee of how much you want to effectively bet on your picks. Fliff Superstars then automatically places you in a relevant competition, with a prize pool based on the other entrants and their fees.
The kicker though, is that you can get a guaranteed prize, provided that your over/under picks are correct – you can then get an additional prize based on the prize pool of the contest you are in. We also mentioned the game modes – there’s Max Play and Flex Play.
- Max Play: In this mode you only win if all of your over/under picks win.
- Flex Play: In this mode, you win provided only a max of one of your over/under picks loses.
We like this as it gives you a little more flexibility in your picks if you aren’t confident in some of them. We found this simple over/under system to be incredibly entertaining and it’s great for those who love diving into the statistical side of sports.
There’s support for all the major US pro leagues
At this point in time, Fliff Superstars is mainly for US pro league competitions, but we were impressed to see that it is already looking to branch out to cover more sports, and we found the following sports and leagues:
- Football (NFL and NCAA).
- Basketball (NBA and WNBA).
- Baseball (MLB).
- Ice Hockey (NHL).
- Soccer (MLS, multiple European leagues).
This is already decent coverage, and they have an excellent set of over/under picks for various stats for the different sports. We enjoyed looking through the NBA picks in particular.
- 100% match deposit bonus
- Easy game format
- Large payout multipliers
Does Fliff Superstars have any bonuses or promotions?
For a complete look at the bonus features this site has, you can read our Fliff Superstars promo code review. At a quick glance though, we didn’t see many promotions to speak of, and the only real feature was the reload bonus.
Fliff Superstars reload bonus
This DFS app has a simple reload feature that ensures you always have something to play with. In short, whenever your balance reaches $0, you will get a $1 free bonus – awesome! You can then use this $1 bonus to enter any of the available DFS competitions that have a $1 entry fee. While producing our Fliff Superstars reviews, we saw a range of $1 entry tournaments for the different sports they support, so this bonus can give you additional playability.
Is Fliff Superstars legit? Looking at its core features
After creating our Fliff Superstars login and assessing the DFS competitions, we looked at the legitimacy of the app and its transparency to make sure you can have a safe gaming experience here.
Availability
Fliff Superstars is available in 48 of the 50 US states and it’s only prohibited in Washington State and Idaho. We are confident that it complies with state-level DFS regulations.
Security
The app and website have standard security features including SSL encryption and HTTPS connectivity. We also found a wealth of documentation for transparency which includes a privacy policy, game rules, responsible gambling information, and terms and conditions.
Customer support
The only support method we found via the Fliff Superstars app was email. However, from our experience testing it, we found that it was monitored 24/7, and we generally got replies to our queries within an hour or so. The quality of the replies was always spot on too, and the support team was able to solve our problems.
Banking
At Fliff Superstars you can deposit money into your account, and we were able to do this via Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and ACH Bank Transfer. This isn’t the largest collection of payment methods, but the app is still incredibly new, so we expect more methods to be added in time. Most people will use Visa or Mastercard anyway, so we don’t think this will pose any problems.
For withdrawals, you can use ACH or Skrill which again is a limited selection of methods – we hope they add debit card or credit card withdrawals in time. We didn’t see any withdrawal processing fees though, and from our testing, we typically received payments within 72 hours.
Usability – what’s the Fliff Superstars desktop and mobile versions like?
Last up for our Fliff Superstars review we considered the usability of the site and app to see how easy it is for beginners to make picks.
Fliff Superstars does not have a desktop version
The first thing we noticed is that you cannot play at Fliff Superstars via the desktop website. It’s mobile-only. If you use the desktop website, it’s essentially a landing page where you can learn about the DFS site and how it works, and find links to download the mobile apps from. This won’t be an issue for most people, but it’s something they could look at changing in the future.
The mobile app is available for Android and iOS
Although there isn’t a desktop version, there’s two superb mobile apps – one for iOS and one for Android devices. We tested both of them and they work brilliantly. They have a similar feel and style to the Fliff social sportsbook app. We like how smooth the interface is. That makes it very easy to manage your account and funds, and view the different peer-2-peer DFS competitions.
We never had any issues with loading times or page speeds, and we never saw any technical issues – they’ve done a great job of launching the app without any bugs. One thing that stood out to us was how easy the app is for beginners too – there’s plenty of information about how everything works, and if you’ve never used a DFS app before, you should easily be able to understand what to do and how to enter the contests.
Our verdict – is Fliff Superstars worth it?
We immediately fell in love with Fliff Superstars and we think it’s one of the best new releases for some time. While creating our Fliff Superstars review, we had immense fun testing the DFS competitions, looking at the huge array of over/under picks they offer, and getting to grips with how the app works. It’s a great option for beginners, or for sports fans who want something simple – you can deposit some cash and make a few picks with ease, and have the potential of getting cash prizes back.
We do think that a desktop version of the site would be nice for those who don’t want to use their phone, and they definitely need to add some more promotions, but other than that, this is already an excellent P2P DFS app. If you fancy giving it a try, feel free to click any of the links or banners featured on this page to download the app and get signed up.
