Rams vs 49ers Preview — Who Will Win?
The Los Angeles Rams open the season as Super Bowl favorites. Their first test? The division rival San Francisco 49ers. This game obviously has huge implications in what was the strongest division in football last year, sending three teams with 12 wins to the playoffs and hosting both NFC finalists. So, who’s going to win?

Here are some other markets:
- Rams over 26.5 points: 51%
- 49ers over 22.5 points: 48%
- Puka Nacua one or more TDs: 41%
- Matthew Stafford over 175 passing yards: 92%
Factors to know
The Rams are the Super Bowl favorites because they were very close last year and then had the best offseason of any NFL team. Take a look at their alarming number of high-impact additions:
- EDGE Myles Garrett
- DL Aaron Donald
- CB Trent McDuffie
- CB Jaylen Watson
- TE Max Klare
Now,
Aaron Donald is not expected to play tonight as he continues to work back from retirement.
Additionally, the Rams did have to part with Jared Verse to get Myles Garrett, but that’s a substantial upgrade.
They are not dealing with any major injuries. Alfred Collins just tore his patellar tendon for the 49ers, so he’s out for the season. Everyone else is mostly healthy, but George Kittle and Nick Bosa may be limited after coming back from Achilles and ACL injuries, respectively.
The game is being held in Melbourne, Australia, so there’s no real home-field advantage either.
☑️ My Take
As mentioned, the Rams are the Super Bowl favorites, and for good reason. They were easily one of the best teams in the NFL last year, and they’re even better now. Los Angeles has paired the reigning DPOY, Myles Garrett, with the reigning MVP, Matthew Stafford.
They are the first team to do this in NFL history. In other words, they have put together an unprecedented roster. That doesn’t even factor in the eventual return of former DPOY Aaron Donald. That doesn’t impact tonight, but the Rams are insanely stacked.
The 49ers are a little more banged up, and the Rams are simply better. It’s no surprise Kalshi traders are overwhelmingly backing them, and they are probably right to do so. The Rams should win.
