PUBG announces $100,000 Streamer Challenge for PAYDAY mode

PUBG is hosting a limited-time challenge where streamers can compete in PAYDAY mode for a chance to win a share of the $100,000 prize money.
PUBG’s latest gameplay mode is introducing a new direction for the game, as the battle royale will now feature a heist mode. This highlights Krafton’s desire to give its players more in terms of varied content.
PUBG’s collaboration will also feature a tournament where streamers can compete and possibly win monetary prizes. This will make it fun for viewers to watch real-time gameplay, while allowing players to earn points. Here are the key details about PAYDAY mode and the streamer challenge.
What is PAYDAY Mode?

PAYDAY mode is a limited-time gameplay mode that will go live on May 13 for PC and May 21 for consoles; it will run for nine days on both instances. This mode will be added to celebrate Krafton’s collaboration with Starbreeze Studios, and the Swedish developers’ most popular shooting game, PAYDAY, will appear in PUBG as a unique gameplay mode.
Players are used to the battle royale gameplay of PUBG, but PAYDAY mode will focus on high-risk heists. Krafton hasn’t confirmed how many players will be able to team up, but based on the trailer and the game PAYDAY’s gameplay, it’s likely squads will be made up of four players. PAYDAY’s main objective will be collecting money, but kills will also affect players’ scores substantially.
Points are earned by:
- Eliminating opponents
- Achieving special kill conditions
- Collecting money during matches
The formula for the score is: Final Score = Money + (Special Kills × 5,000) + (Kills × 500)
What is the $100,000 streamer challenge?
The steamer challenge is being hosted to celebrate PUBG’s collaboration with PAYDAY, but the format is interesting. Players will be given scores based on two ranking systems: Play Ranking Leaderboard and Streaming Ranking Leaderboard.
- Play Ranking Leaderboard: This is how tournaments typically handle scores, with players being judged on their in-game performances
- Streaming Ranking Leaderboard: This rank is determined by a player’s total watch hours of their PAYDAY mode broadcast
The top 10 in both ranking leaderboards will be selected as winners and take home a piece of the prize pool, and PUBG betting sites will also almost certainly be covering the event.
| Rank | Play Ranking Leaderboard | Streaming Ranking Leaderboard |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | $7,000 | $20,000 |
| 2nd | $5,000 | $14,000 |
| 3rd | $3,500 | $10,000 |
| 4th | $2,500 | $8,000 |
| 5th | $2,000 | $6,000 |
| 6th | $1,500 | $5,000 |
| 7th | $1,200 | $4,000 |
| 8th | $1,000 | $3,500 |
| 9th | $800 | $3,000 |
| 10th | $500 | $2,500 |
