Coinbase Review 2026: Is Coinbase Really Legit? Unbiased Users Ratings

When you think of Coinbase you think of crypto, but recently prediction markets have been added to the existing platform. Is it any good? Well, after carrying out this Coinbase review we were pretty impressed with what we found.

Coinbase has taken what they learned with their established operation and carried that over to prediction markets. You can explore 14 categories, fund your account with a wide range of options and it’s all tied up on a very usable platform. This certainly got the nod of approval here, and is easily worth a much closer look.

14 prediction market categories Plenty of payment options including crypto Easy to use interface
No welcome bonus for new users

Is there a welcome bonus for Coinbase predictions?

We don’t want to start this Coinbase review on a downer, but there’s no bonus for signing up for Coinbase predictions at the moment. If you’re new to prediction market sites, you should know this is pretty much the case across the board, so you’re not missing out. This might change in the future as platforms become more common and are competing for users, but for now, the only bonuses available here are the ones for buying crypto. Handy if you want to fund your account with crypto, but there is no specific prediction market bonus.

Which prediction markets are available at Coinbase?

The prediction markets are built into the existing platform so you know that what you’ll find here will be easy to navigate and you won’t be left scratching your head wondering what to do. That previous experience is good because here you’ve got 14 different prediction market categories, which would rival somewhere like Kalshi, and dwarfs the single sports focus in one area we found in our Sleeper Markets review. Despite having so much going on, even a complete newbie will be able to see how event contracts are bought, sold and traded.

Whether you want to make predictions in sports, entertainment or crypto it’s the same simple process of buying yes/no event contracts at prices connected to their likely probability. You’ll be able to sell if you wish if the market moves in your favor, or just hold and collect $1 per contract for every successful prediction. Of course, getting it wrong will mean you get nothing. The platform layout makes this easy to do, so when it comes to usability Coinbase predictions gets our seal of approval

Same top tier usability on the Coinbase app

Of course, it’s not just about what happens on your laptop, as most of us use our phones as much, if not more. Yes, there’s an app, and like the main platform you’ve got the prediction markets section added on to what is an already well put together operation, so no worries about loss of function or features. If you don’t have the Coinbase app already, it’s on the usual app stores and can be downloaded in just a couple of minutes for either Android or iOS. You can do everything there that you can on your laptop, including buy, trade, and even make deposits and withdrawals.

Plenty of options for funding your account at Coinbase

We know the question you’re going to ask here, but don’t worry, we thought the same thing. This Coinbase, so it’s all crypto, right? Well, actually you can use crypto to fund your account, but you don’t have to. FIAT payment methods are available like the ones we found during our Gemini.com review such as bank transfers, debit cards like Visa and Mastercard, as well as Google and Apple Pay. This should cover pretty much every user out there, so again, Coinbase scores highly – and as it’s Coinbase you can be quite sure making deposits and withdrawals are safe and secure.

Get your answers quickly using FAQs and 24/7 live chat

Another benefit of using the prediction section of an already established platform like Coinbase is that they have the back end already set up. If this was a brand new operation, you might find support to be a bit hit and miss, but as this is far from being Coinbase’s first rodeo, they have a well stocked FAQs and support section that will probably have the answers you’re looking for.

If your problem is outside the normal type of query, there is the live chat option with its virtual assistant, which you can upgrade to email and a human if things aren’t moving quickly enough. The only downside of having that established set up is that it’s not just prediction markets focused, it’s the same support network for everything Coinbase does, which could potentially mean a longer wait than you’d like.

Can you trust Coinbase for prediction markets?

The answer here is yes, and if it wasn’t, we really would have pointed that out right at the start of this Coinbase review. Coinbase is an established brand, with a solid reputation, so their move into prediction markets has equally solid foundations. Just like when we carried out our IBKR prediction markets review, we checked if the predictions arm of Coinbase is regulated by the CTFC (it is) and if it was a member of the NFA (again, yes it is).

Both those boxes are ticked and if you want extra reassurance, the parent company is regulated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. When you add in the fact that you’ve got the usual Coinbase identity checks and SSL encryption to keep everything private, we didn’t see anything to worry about here.

Long term benefits of using Coinbase predictions

As we also discovered during our ROLR review, prediction market platforms aren’t big on ongoing promotions or similar benefits you might have seen on other types of platforms. As with welcome offers and bonuses, that might change as the area becomes more competitive, and as soon as that happens you’ll see it updated here and on the page banners.

A great addition to an established brand

It’s hard to fault Coinbase predictions. It’s got a wide range of prediction markets, plenty of payment options, established channels for support and service, and there’s no looking past the established name and pedigree.

The only minor criticism you could aim at it, is that it’s done such a good job of being like the other platforms there’s nothing that really sets it apart, but that’s a pretty small thing to worry about considering how much it’s got going for it. Existing Coinbase users will find adding prediction markets to their other activities really simple, and pretty much anyone else should be using the links on this page to take a closer look at what’s on offer at Coinbase for themselves.
