The mini-set Mythical Island just dropped in Pokemon TCG Pocket but fans already want to know what’s coming next. Thankfully, the full Pokemon TCG Pocket schedule of events for January has already been unearthed.

Pokemon TCG Pocket has continued to grow in popularity, offering fun, immersive cards to collect and a simplified version of the trading card game. The new mini-set added 86 new cards to the game, shaking up the meta by strengthening powerful decks. However, there’s plenty more coming to celebrate the arrival of Mythical Island, according to leaks and data mines.

All Pokemon TCG Pocket January 2025 events

Like other live-service games, Pokemon TCG Pocket pre-loads content and new releases into the game well before players can see it. This is the case with everything from Fortnite to Genshin Impact, and Pokemon TCG is no different. This means that players already have a firm idea of what they have to look forward to in January 2025 and beyond.

Here’s the event schedule for Pokemon TCG Pocket in January 2025:

Pokemon TCG Promo cards

While there isn’t a constant churn of major releases in Pokemon TCG Pocket, there’s a lot going on to keep fans logging in. These events are also to cater to players of all sorts, offering completionists, casuals, and hardcore battling players something to enjoy. There’s plenty of overlap there too, with events like the Mew ex Mass Outbreak event set to offer value to all sorts of players.

Regardless, the promise of a possibly new Pikachu promo and a ton of free packs and items is definitely welcomed. These aren’t the only things that are set to come to the game in January, though.

Trading still set to come to Pokemon TCG Pocket in January

Trading is still set to come to Pokemon TCG Pocket in January 2025, according to leaks.

On top of all the upcoming events, January also has some exciting content in store. The developers of Pokemon TCG Pocket previously confirmed that trading is coming to the game before long. Alongside the January event schedule, the addition of trading to Pokemon TCG Pocket was listed as coming during the month. No exact date was given, but players won’t have to wait too long regardless.

Right now, there’s no way to trade cards between players, even added friends, in Pokemon TCG Pocket. This has made it a bit harder to collect all the cards trainers need for a collection or deck.

There are plenty of currencies in Pokemon TCG Pocket and one is a Special Shop Ticket. This can only be earned by trading or consuming rare cards. However, trading is most likely on the way so it’s best to save extra copies of cards right now to trade with friends come January.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...

Recent Pokémon sales prove nostalgia is still king Zachary Roberts To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were brought to the Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2) library. This came a little over a week before Pokémon Pokopia dropped. The former is a decades-old game, and the latter is a brand-new title unlike anything in the franchise. Additionally, it's a real Game of the Year contender. Yet, early sales reports indicate that the two are selling very similarly. FireRed ...
