Pokémon TCG, as well as the wider franchise, debuted in 1996. That means that this year is the 30th anniversary. Earlier in the year, the Pokémon Company announced several big things for the 30th, including the port of Fire Red and Leaf Green as well as the first look at Generation 10. Part of that livestream included a brief tease about something special for the 30th anniversary, specifically of Pokémon TCG. Now we know what that’s going to be.

Pokémon TCG 30th anniversary set finally revealed

Five years ago, Pokémon TCG celebrated the 25th anniversary with an appropriately titled Celebration set. There were some highly coveted cards released as a result. The base set Charizard is perhaps chief among them. That was years ago, though, and a new anniversary has arrived. A brief, one-minute teaser below revealed what the company had in store for later this year.

Now, they’ve officially unveiled the set titled 30th Celebration. There are quite a few new cards available, with Legendary Pokémon starring. There is a Mew Ex and a Mewtwo Ex that are certain to become the holy grails of this particular set. Pikachu is understandably featured, as are Umbreon, Espeon, Lapras, Drifloon, and more.

The Mew and Mewtwo are part of a new card type. There have been secret rares, illustration rares, rainbow rares, and more. Now, there futuristic rares, which feature sleek new visuals. These are officially debuting with this set but may become staples of the sets afterward. There are 30 different foil Pikachu cards, and every pack is guaranteed to have one.

Like with the previous Celebration set, Pokémon TCG is bringing back old favorites. Once again, Charizard from the Base Set is getting an update. So is Pikachu & Zekrom-GX from the Sun and Moon Team Up line. These are technically reprints and aren’t legal in standard formats for the game, but that doesn’t matter for collectors.

This set will be available starting September 16, 2026. Pre-orders are not yet available, but it is likely that they will be from the official Pokémon Center at some point before the launch date this fall.
