Pokemon HOME gives casual fans a great reason to use the app; offering free shiny legendary and mythical Pokemon as rewards.

Competitive Pokemon players absolutely need Pokemon HOME. In Scarlet and Violet, powerful legendary Pokemon of previous generations like Landorus and Urshifu are still meta-defining threats. Players can still get them through The Indigo Disk DLC but in both cases, the legendaries have multiple forms that are built completely differently. Because of this, it’s important to have at least two of these once–per-save-file Pokemon. This is best done through Pokemon HOME.

The trouble for ILCA and The Pokemon Company is that competitive players make up an incredibly small niche of the massive Pokemon fandom. For most players, there’s little value in moving Pokemon between games, save for sentimental purposes.

That’s changing with shiny legendary and mythical Pokemon being available for Pokemon Home users. Here’s a full roundup of every shiny available, and how to get them.

All shiny legendary, mythical Pokemon that are permanently available through Pokemon HOME

Pokemon HOME has a number of shiny Pokemon available on a permanent basis as rewards for completing the Pokedex of specific games. This is becoming a bit of a tradition, and players can expect more to be added over time.

There’s little rhyme or reason to which Pokemon become available for which game. Regardless, many of these Pokemon are either unobtainable in shiny form or were only available in specific events many years ago. As such, there’s no other option for obtaining them. Here’s a full breakdown of each one, and how to get them.

Do note that this list is only focused on Pokemon that are permanently available in Pokemon HOME. The app has run limited-time events or been a component of in-game events with shiny Pokemon, such as 2021’s Sword and Shield’s Zeraora event. These Pokemon are available permanently.

original color magearna

How to get Original Color Magearna from Pokemon HOME

Players can get Original Color Magearna from Pokemon HOME by completing the first eight generations’ Pokedex in the app.

Technically speaking, Original Color Magearna is not a shiny Pokemon, but this mythical is available in Pokemon HOME for free and is unobtainable in any other way. Its red and yellow look is distinct from the silver and gold standard Magearna that was previously available through a limited-time distribution event.

In some ways, Original Color Magearna is one of the easier free shiny legendary or mythical Pokemon to get from Pokemon HOME. Players need to upload import all Pokemon in the national Pokedex through generation eight’s Eternatus. That’s a total of 890 Pokemon, including extremely rare mythical Pokemon like Volcanion and Genesect. The good news is that this feat can be accomplished with Pokemon imported from any game.

pokemon home shiny meloetta

How to get shiny Meloetta from Pokemon HOME

Players can get a free shiny Meloetta from Pokemon HOME by completing the full Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy Pokedex using Pokemon imported from Scarlet and Violet.

What makes getting free shiny legendary and mythical Pokemon difficult in HOME is the fact that most require players to import everything from a single game. That’s the case here.

Players will need to import Pokemon caught specifically in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in order to get a shiny Meloetta.

Even though Pokemon like the Galar starters can be easily obtained in Sword and Shield, players will need to catch them in Blueberry Academy and import them into Pokemon HOME. Then repeat this step with all their different evolutions.

How to get shiny Enamorus from Pokemon HOME

The shiny version of Hisuian legendary Pokemon Enamorus can be caught for free through Pokemon HOME by completing the Hisui Pokedex in the app. This is the only way to acquire the Pokemon.

As with shiny Meloetta, players need to import every Hisuian Pokemon into Pokemon HOME. This means that a Rowlet caught in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will not help players progress toward unlocking it, despite Rowlet being a Hisui starter.

While every shiny legendary or mythical Pokemon is valuable, getting this shiny Enamorous from HOME should be a priority for players. Catching the Pokemon in Legends: Arceus is a brutal task. Like the other Forces of Nature, Enamorus has a regular version and a Therian Forme. With one being a fast physical sweeper and the other being a Trick Room special attacker, players need two versions of them.

shiny enamorus manaphy

How to get shiny Manaphy from Pokemon HOME

Players who complete the Sinnoh Pokedex from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in Pokemon HOME are rewarded with a shiny Manaphy.

This is the easiest shiny mythical or legendary Pokemon to get from HOME. Players only need to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex through Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining, not the game’s full national Pokedex. This means that players only need around 150 Pokemon in order to get the shiny Manaphy.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Pokemon
All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...

Recent Pokémon sales prove nostalgia is still king Zachary Roberts To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were brought to the Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2) library. This came a little over a week before Pokémon Pokopia dropped. The former is a decades-old game, and the latter is a brand-new title unlike anything in the franchise. Additionally, it's a real Game of the Year contender. Yet, early sales reports indicate that the two are selling very similarly. FireRed ...
