PirateSoftware responds to removal from WoW OnlyFangs guild

After being kicked from the popular OnlyFangs streamers guild earlier this week, Jason “PirateSoftware” Thor Hall has pledged to quit hardcore WoW altogether.
The streaming world is no stranger to controversy and drama, but World of Warcraft collaborations seem to be taking center stage. Notably, the WoW hardcore OnlyFangs guild has had a number of player removals, cheating scandals, and more. The latest casualty of the group was PirateSoftware, kicked recently for his role in two character deaths during a dungeon run and his repeated refusal to take responsibility afterwards.
Days after his removal from OnlyFangs, PirateSoftware has given a further statement on why he thinks he was kicked, as well as what he plans to do next.
WoW hardcore guild OnlyFangs kicks PirateSoftware for dungeon run deaths
Guild leader Thomas “Sodapoppin” Morris shared that the decision to remove PirateSoftware was in part over in-game character deaths during a dungeon run, and in part down to PirateSoftware’s response in the aftermath making other guild members uncomfortable with his continued membership.
During a Hardcore Dire Maul run consisting of five OnlyFangs members, the squad decided to exit the dungeon to force a reset. However, PirateSoftware fled ahead of everyone else when it seemed he could have done more to help his fellow guild members escape along with him. Many in the guild hold him personally responsible for the deaths of Sara and Snupy’s high-level characters. The reason Sodapoppin in particular cites for this blame is that he didn’t “play his class to a basic level” and instead prioritized his own survival.
After team and fan backlash as well as abusive comments online, PirateSoftware doubled down on his in-game decisions. Fans and guild members alike expressed their frustration that he wouldn’t take any responsibility for his actions. By January 15, the creator was officially out of the guild.
In a Discord post, Sodapoppin defended his decision to kick PirateSoftware. He explained that a majority of people in the guild were uncomfortable being around the player but emphasized his guilt at the way the situation panned out publicly. Sodapoppin concluded by urging the group to forget about the whole thing and to move on.
PirateSoftware says he’s done with World of Warcraft hardcore
During a recent stream, PirateSoftware sought to tell his side of the story as to the World of Warcraft hardcore drama in OnlyFangs, and said he would no longer take part in the game at all.

After all his recent kicking from the OnlyFangs guild, PirateSoftware is calling it quits on Hardcore WoW. The streamer clarified that he wouldn’t be making his own competing guild or anything similar. He also told any viewers who were there for more drama that they were essentially out of luck on his end, as he was seeking to move on from the episode.
PirateSoftware attributed his removal from OnlyFangs to his threat to report “abusive” comments or players “sending their communities to hate-raid” him. Specifically, he shared comments that allegedly threatened his and his family’s safety on X and said that he had contacted Blizzard directly with those comments. PirateSoftware did clarify that there was only a limited number of creators he had actually reported.
Fans can still expect to find the content creator streaming World of Warcraft on his own, as seen during his most recent stream. PirateSoftware’s video game development event PirateJam went live on January 17 and runs through the end of the month. Even without hardcore WoW, the streamer still has a lot on his plate.
