Team Spirit and Team Vitality are currently the two best CS2 teams in the world, so it’s really no surprise they’re the two tournament favorites – there’s quite the gap between them and the rest of the competition.

Format and Schedule
PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 follows the standard Counter-Strike tournament format, meaning the tournament will feature two stages. If you’re looking to bet on these CS2 odds, let’s make sure you understand the importance of each phase.
Swiss Stage (24 October – 28 October)
The tournament begins with a Swiss Stage, where teams battle for limited spots in the playoffs.
- All 16 teams enter a Swiss Stage format.
- All matches are played in Best of 3 format.
- Win three games → Advance to the playoffs.
- Lose three games → You’re out of the tournament.
- By the end of the Swiss Stage, eight teams will be eliminated.
This means the tournament’s opening matches begin on October 24, with Stake one of the leading esports betting sites. Some of their latest odds are displayed below.
Playoffs (29 October – 31 October)
The top eight teams at the event will duke it out in the playoffs on their road to the trophy.
- 8 teams are seeded into a Single-Elimination bracket.
- All matches except for the Grand Final will be played in Best of 3 format.
- There will be a third-place decider match before the Grand Final.
- The Grand Final will be played in Best of 5 format.
The playoffs is the perfect time to back your favorite teams on the best CS2 betting sites, so make sure you don’t miss out, and you may even be able to claim a bonus too.
Teams to Look Out For at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026
If you haven’t paid close attention to the Counter-Strike scene recently, here are my teams to watch at this event.
The Title Contenders
Let’s get Team Spirit and Team Vitality out of the way quickly – they are clearly the top dogs at this event, and it won’t be a surprise if either of them take the title.
However, I really like MOUZ’s chances at this tournament. MOUZ upgraded their roster in the recent roster shuffle, and have made deep runs in every tournament they’ve played in. If there’s another team that can contend with Spirit and Vitality then it’s them.

Dark Horses
If we’re looking for dark horses, I have two in mind. First are The MongolZ. The Asian squad recently made changes to its roster, and even won 1win Private Club Season 2 just days ago. Though they probably won’t win the title, they could definitely make a deep run.
Aside from The MongolZ, FUT Esports are worth keeping an eye on. The team recently added experienced AWPer SunPayus to the team to help the other young members grow. FUT are typically good to at least make the playoffs in events like these, so top eight doesn’t seem unrealistic.
