The two previous trophy winners, NRG and Paper Rex, now find themselves facing each other in an elimination match with a grand final spot on the line. This series will be played in a Best of 5 format, which will put both teams to the ultimate test.

NRG are coming off a disappointing loss to Nongshim RedForce. Despite the best esports betting sites labeling that series as a close affair, NRG went limp and barely put up much of a fight. Several players were having very noticeable off days.

Still, the NRG roster is more than capable of bouncing back, and we should expect them to return to form for this crucial series against Paper Rex.

Paper Rex, on the other hand, just sent G2 Esports home after a convincing win. The Southeast Asian squad let multiple favorable rounds slip on the first map, but only barely lost it 11-13.

It’s no secret that Paper Rex are a very momentum-based team, and that was shown in their previous series against G2. The real question is whether NRG can bounce back from a tough loss and bring out their A-game for this series.

With this being a five-map series, the team that wins the first map could gain the momentum needed to carry them through the series. Either way, we’re expecting a very competitive series. The winner of this match fully deserves to be in the grand final.
